The Lithia Ridge HOA is undertaking a playground safety initiative to improve safety and compliance with regulations following injuries in recent years. They plan to replace outdated swings and playground equipment, relocate the playground to allow more space and comply with safety regulations, install safety surfacing and make other improvements like adding benches and a bike rack. The total estimated cost of all planned upgrades is $30,000.

2. BACKGROUND In 2008 There were injuries on the playground that required medical attention. In 2009 the Lithia Ridge HOA Board decided initiate a safety audit. Safety audit brought to light major deficiencies in safety surfacing, swings, and placement of the playground equipment. Since receipt of the audit the HOA Board has worked to come up with workable solutions to come in compliance with the recommendations and requirements.
