 Impregnable Sinhagad fortress is







located South West of Pune.
4th Jan 1670 night 500 Maratha
soldiers attacked Sinhagad.
Used monitor lizards to climb
vertical cliff and fort.
Garrison was defended by 1500
soldiers.
After the climb the ropes were cut.
Do or Die Battle results in victory.
Tanaji dies in the heroic effort.
