However, as the old adage goes – doing the right thing is not often the easiest thing to do
and the hosts went the extra mile to ensure that the property reflects the ethos of its
surroundings accurately. The use of earth and traditional insulation methods has also
created natural climate control and so the cabins are always at an ideal temperature,
irrespective of the weather outside. All the furniture in this property has been customized,
representing a contemporary-chic take on traditional Ladakhi interiors, combining form
and function.
Note: As the property is a little away from the city, we have a clinic equipped with basic
medical facilities for common ailments that occur in this region. On-site facilities include
First Aid and provisions for dealing with guests who may experience some side effects as
a result of the high altitude. Leh Hospital is a short (5 kilometer) drive away and a doctor
is available on call, for any emergencies.
JAADOOGHAR EXPERIENCES
The Farm-to-Table experience
Gangles is an agrarian village and the farm-to-table dining experience is the norm here.
The farms here churn out a wide range of high quality, organic produce that is the basis of
the culinary repertoire of the area. At Jaadooghar Leh, authentic Indian chefs create
magic from these fruits of the land, supplemented by quality ingredients from other
neighbouring farms, as you marvel at the sheer beauty of the Stok Range that dominates
the skyline. Natural springs are the source of pure Himalayan water for the property.
Village Walk
Explore the village on foot, while soaking in the breathtaking landscapes, surrounding
mountain views, and see the ‘real’ Ladakh in its small villages nestled far away in the
mountains. Pack a picnic basket lunch, a full 5 course meal while you venture out to bask

The Lungmar Cabin is a single room set with a patio of its own. It has an L shaped,
double glazed window system to let you enjoy the view and stay comfortably warm inside.
The interiors are a mix of traditional and contemporary styles, with customized nail-free

done in the traditional way and laid with bare beam ceilings and “shen” flooring.

the Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport (IXL) which is at a distance of about 8 kms from
the property. It is located in the prime area ofLeh, only about 3.8 kms from the Leh
Palace, 24 kms from the Thiksey Monastery and and only about 5 kms from the Shanti
Stupa, which are few of the main attractions in Leh.
MEET YOUR HOST
Hosted by the Spurkapa family, one of the founders of the Gangles village, they have
lived and worked on this land for over 10 generations. With vast experience in the tourism
and hospitality sector, the family decided to open its home to tourists recently with one
vision in mind – sustainable travel.

Please bear in mind that the property is located in the upper reaches of Leh, relatively
untouched and therefore, while we aim to give you the best of experiences, sometimes
things here can take a bit longer than they would in a city.
