Editor's Notes

  • #3 Members participated in programmes which brought audiences together across the world to mark the centenary. Our community included local history societies, international governments, galleries and schools, who were provided, among other benefits: - One-to-one support and networking events - Access to over 300 IWM Archive photographs, films and audio clips
  • #7 Workshops excerpt: William Kilbride from DPC, on digitisation vs digital preservation
  • #8 Launching in June 2020, the FWW Centenary Portal will be a permanent space on the IWM website, intended to document how the centenary was marked. The portal will not store digital material, but will rather signpost and create connections between projects: Individuals and organisations have the responsibility for maintaining their digital archives. The project will not provide a comprehensive record of what was achieved, but rather will provide a sampling of the diverse activity undertaken.
