Protesters picketed outside Fremont Place in Hancock Park in 1964 to protest racial inequality, carrying signs and torches to target Cardinal McIntyre who lived there at the time. The neighborhood has grown from only two houses on Fremont Place in the 1920s to over 70 houses now, and the map documents the changes to landmarks in the area like Larchmont Village, LA Memorial High School, and the demographics which show it as one of the most white and Asian neighborhoods in the city though still moderately diverse compared to other parts of Los Angeles.
