La Ultra - The High (www.thehigh.in), world's highest altitude ultra-marathon, is a super insane ultra marathon (222 km with 60 hr cut -off) held in the Indian Himalayas, in high altitude desert region of Le-Ladakh. The course crosses over the highest motor-able mountain pass in the world, Khardung La (17,700 ft). It then travels back down into the scenic town of Leh (11,000 ft) only to summit once more, up into the second highest pass, Tanglang La (17,583 ft).
