This document outlines the syllabus for two semesters of a Botany course at a Government Arts and Science College in Karwar, Karnataka, India.
Semester V covers the diversity of angiosperms, their systematics, classification, morphology, and selected plant families. It also addresses herbarium techniques and the Botanical Survey of India.
Semester VI covers cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, evolution, plant breeding, and biotechnology. Topics include cell structures, chromosomes, DNA, inheritance, gene expression, genetic variations, modern evolution concepts, plant propagation, hybridization, genetic engineering techniques, plant tissue culture, and immunology applications. Lists of reference books for each semester are also
