Imam Abu Hanifah used thoughtful responses and analogies to answer questions about the nature and existence of God from nonbelievers. When asked where God is, he responded that God existed before time and history began, and nothing precedes God. To questions about God's form, he analogized that just as a soul departing the body cannot be defined, the divine entity cannot be described. He urged focusing on upholding truth and justice rather than satisfying the weak with injustice.
