Most legislators wrongly assume that New Jersey's independent college students come from wealthy families and do not need financial aid. To change this perception and restore proposed funding cuts, the Act for AICUNJ campaign used facts and human stories in a print and web campaign. The campaign highlighted that many students rely on state aid to afford college and attain social mobility through higher education.

Spring Reins of Hope is an EAGALA model program in NY and NJ that offers both EAP (psychotherapy) and EAL (equine assisted learning). This presentation is of a class called Horses for Healers Workshop that was piloted with UMDNJ Medical students in Spring of 2012. Horses are masters of nonverbal communication and are great teachers of how subtle it is that we communicate safety or non-safety in our patient relations. This workshop is effective, experiential, memorable and fun!

The document discusses the investigation and diagnosis of pulmonary embolism, noting that while CT pulmonary angiography and V/Q scans can diagnose or rule out PE, over 70% of patients suspected of having PE do not actually have it. It provides guidance on using clinical probability assessments, D-dimer testing, and choosing between CTA and V/Q scans to effectively diagnose PE while avoiding unnecessary additional testing for patients who are unlikely to have the condition.
Theodore Roethke was an American poet born in 1908 in Michigan. He studied at the University of Michigan and Harvard. Roethke struggled with mental illness throughout his life, being institutionalized at times for schizophrenia and manic depression. His poetry was influenced by his difficult childhood, including his father's death when he was young. Roethke is known for his innovative style that blended fiction and nonfiction. A major theme in his work was understanding his relationship with his father, and he drew inspiration from memories of his family's greenhouse.

Identity Politics in the Twenty-first Century: A Kenyan Perspective

Over the past four decades, ethnic and religious minorities, organisations of persons with disabilities, and feminist organisations among others have contributed significantly to the growth of identity politics, that is, competition for state power among interest groups. Nevertheless, many centralist regimes continue to suppress this mode of political expression through a »nationalist« discourse.
This paper examines identity politics in the twenty-first century, with special reference to the Kenyan experience. It observes that the dominant variety of identity politics in Kenya is ethnically-based, with more than forty-two ethnic groups competing for state power. Consequently, Kenya is a multi-ethnic state forcefully created by colonialism rather than a nation-state formed by a largely homogenous cultural group. Yet the dominant public political discourse continues to refer to the country as a »nation« or even a »nation-state«. Furthermore, although the Constitution of Kenya promulgated in 2010 to some extent acknowledges the right of ethnic groups to pursue their aspirations within the Kenyan polity, the elites of dominant ethnic groups continue to publicly castigate the articulation of ethnic interests while simultaneously executing political strategies based on those same interests.
The central argument of the paper is that for most of Kenya’s fifty years of political independence, the suppression of ethnically-based politics among the non-dominant ethnic groups has significantly contributed to socio-political instability in the country. Consequently, it proposes that Kenya’s long-term political stability is dependent on a shift from liberal democracy with its focus on the atomic individual to a mode of democracy that takes cognisance of the ethnic loyalties of the bulk of the country’s population.

Smart antennas are antenna arrays that use digital signal processing to optimize performance by steering beams towards desired signals and nulling interference. They can enhance capacity, coverage, transmission efficiency and interference rejection for applications in military communications, satellite communications, mobile communications, wireless sensor networks, and terrestrial television reception. Future applications include 5G networks with data rates over 10 Gbps using multiple smart antennas in mobile devices. Smart antennas represent a promising technology for resolving traffic capacity issues in future broadband wireless networks.

1945 m. sausio 28 d. Klaipėdą užėmė sovietų kariuomenė ir perdavė
Lietuvos SSR. 1945 m. rugpjūčio metu vykusio Potsdamo
konferencijos metu Sovietų Sąjungai buvo perduota Rytų Prūsijos dalis
su Karaliaučiumi. Klaipėda prie Lietuvos prijungta ne pagal Potsdamo
susitarimus, bet pagal atskirą aktą, kuriuo visos Vokietijos užimtos
teritorijos nuo 1937 m. pripažintos užgrobtomis neteisėtai. Per Antrąjį
pasaulinį karą kai kurios miesto dalys gerokai nukentėjo nuo sovietų
aviacijos bombordavimų bei vokiečių įgulos sprogdinimų. Evakuavus
beveik visus senuosius miesto gyventojus, miestas neteko senosios
septynių šimtmečių vokiečių-lietuvių-prūsų koegzistencijos tradicijų. Iki
7-8 dešimtmečių sandūros naujoji Klaipėda naujakurių iš visos SSRS

Kelis pirmuosius pokario dešimtmečius Klaipėda atliko iš esmės
ekonominės SSRS provincijos, su itin išvystyta žvejybos pramone,
vaidmenimis.
1946 m. prijungti Giruliai ir Melnragė.
