Ladakh, located in the high altitude Himalayas in northern India, is the sacred land of Buddhists. Staying isolated from the rest of the world for a good part of the year has enabled Ladakhis to preserve and practice their religion like they have for centuries. And it shows in the Buddhist festivals, annual events at most monasteries.

You have to hand it to the Buddhists. For centuries they have gone about practicing and preserving their religion, not diluting its essence over generations, and continuing to command the respect and veneration of the followers of this faith. Their art and architecture has been admirable throughout - and they managed to perch their installations on sites you can barely trudge up to. Modern day builders cannot emulate these. Go on the Buddhist circuit in Ladakh to feel all this for yourself.

Hacktivism - The Hacker News Magazine - May 2012 IssueReputelligence
Article from me „The Many Faces of Modern Day Hackers“ inside this issue. Welcome cyber space readers and internet junkies from around the world. May brings us into an in-depth look at our favorite topic: Hacktivism
Fresh from the enchanted forest comes a little pixie we call Applesauce. Her crisp palette, bold graphic style and coy charm are hard to resist.
Depending on the target, Applesauce adds in sweetness and/or sauciness to the mix!
This document appears to be a personality test consisting of 4 questions with interpretations provided for the answers. It instructs the reader to answer the questions honestly without looking ahead, and promises the answers will provide insights into one's priorities, personality traits, important relationships, and future. It also includes superstitious claims about improving one's life by sharing the test with others.
The document discusses major changes happening in the tourism industry, including a shift of power from industries to clients, commoditization of tourism, and new business models emerging. Shorter, cheaper trips closer to home are becoming the new reality. There is also a growing polarization between security/luxury versus freedom/authenticity in travelers' mindsets. Niche tourism and DIY travel are replacing package holidays as the new mainstream. Responsible tourism that offers authentic experiences must also compete on price. Social media like Facebook and Twitter will become more important for marketing and influencing customers earlier in the buying cycle.
This slide covers Ancient Greek, Roman and Syrian oil lamps. A wick made of cotton or flax would have been placed in the smaller hole, with the lamp filled with olive oil. A filled lamp would burn for about 10 hours, a light brighter than a candle, but still dim by our standards, about as bright as a 40 Walt bulb. Stay tuned for the second part of this video which will cover oil lamps from the Byzantine Empires and the Holy Lands. Visit www.sadighgallery.com to view complete collection.

The Supply of Sustainable Tourism and The Potential Challenges Associated Wit...Aine Conaghan
1) There is no clear destination management organization (DMO) responsible for sustainable tourism destination management in County Clare, Ireland, which stakeholders identified as a challenge.
2) While several organizations are involved in tourism management, there is confusion about roles and no single entity leads sustainable efforts.
3) Appointing a dedicated tourism destination manager and DMO were seen as advantages to better coordinate sustainable tourism destination management by stakeholders.
