Sustainable Development Goals - Finding Solutions For Water Sector in AfricaViral Jani, ACMA
Water Utilities in Africa face Distribution & Commercial Losses to a whooping level of 60-70% of the amount of treated water.
This makes the water projects financially unviable and leaves the project dependent on subsidies without which there will be crippling effect on the continuity of the supply. This will have a adverse effect on health issues. On the other hand, continuous Subsidisation will adversely affect the budgetary deficit.
Through this project, I attempt to communicate the problem and suggestions to Students, Policy-Makers, Water Administrators, Community Leaders and General Public as a whole.
Thanking you all.

Tax-Increment Financing - How to Effectively Use it in Your Community - GSMSu...GrowSmart Maine
Why plan for growth and change, when it seems so much easier to simply react?
When there is a distinct and shared vision for your community - when residents, businesses and local government anticipate a sustainable town with cohesive and thriving neighborhoods - you have the power to conserve your beautiful natural spaces, enhance your existing downtown or Main Street, enable rural areas to be productive and prosperous, and save money through efficient use of existing infrastructure.
This is the dollars and sense of smart growth.
Success is clearly visible in Maine, from the creation of a community-built senior housing complex and health center in Fort Fairfield to conservation easements creating Forever Farms to Rockland's revitalized downtown. Communities have options. We have the power to manage our own responses to growth and change.
After all, “Planning is a process of choosing among those many options. If we do not choose to plan, then we choose to have others plan for us.” - Richard I. Winwood
And in the end, this means that our children and their children will choose to make Maine home and our economy will provide the opportunities to do so.
The Summit offers you a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the transformative change in Maine that we’ve seen these gatherings produce. We encourage you to consider the value of being actively involved in growing Maine’s economy and protecting the reasons we choose to live here.

Dear Mayor Landry and City Council Members:
As Novi looks ahead and plans for the future; we will not be diverted from goals even
though fog may lie ahead. To help us look forward, we rely upon community
involvement from volunteers and boards and commissions to create master plans. Staff

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Cracking the Workplace Discipline Code Main.pptxWorkforce Group
Cultivating and maintaining discipline within teams is a critical differentiator for successful organisations.
Forward-thinking leaders and business managers understand the impact that discipline has on organisational success. A disciplined workforce operates with clarity, focus, and a shared understanding of expectations, ultimately driving better results, optimising productivity, and facilitating seamless collaboration.
Although discipline is not a one-size-fits-all approach, it can help create a work environment that encourages personal growth and accountability rather than solely relying on punitive measures.
In this deck, you will learn the significance of workplace discipline for organisational success. You’ll also learn
• Four (4) workplace discipline methods you should consider
• The best and most practical approach to implementing workplace discipline.
• Three (3) key tips to maintain a disciplined workplace.
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).
2. Economic Development
It’s all about jobs!!
• Other considerations:
Being Development Ready
Retail Attraction
Industrial Attraction
Planning
Incentive Programs
Promotional & Marketing Materials
3. ED Impact: City of Kent
90% of the revenues that fund our city services,
e.g., police, fire, snow plowing, pothole repair,
finance, etc., comes from income taxes.
Our total annual budget is in the $37- 38 million
dollar range- currently a little higher due to the
Crain Avenue Bridge projects and bike trails.
Income taxes from employees of local Kent
businesses account for roughly 29%, or well over
10 million, in annual revenues.
4. Jobs
1 minimum wage job
in the City limits
contributes as much
to our general fund
as someone paying
property taxes on a
$146,000 home.
5. Joint Economic
Development Districts
Increasing the tax base, investment &
commercial activity
Old City Growth Model- Annexation
Townships cannot pass an income tax,
JEDDs allow for win-win
Can increase infrastructure (water, sewer, &
utilities) to a district.
Allows for increased joint marketing and
promotion of new sites- investment!
6. Steps to Creating a JEDD
Communication & Collaboration with
Neighboring Community- Unanimous
Elected Officials Support Important
Negotiate Contracts- Agreement,
Boundaries (Large tracts are easier),
By-Laws
Sign-up: Voluntary & Conscription
Filing and Amendments
9. JEDDs- Joint Economic
Development Districts
JEDD revenues have been experiencing
continued growth, over $983,8760 in new
revenues from the Franklin Township JEDD
since February 2007, as businesses and
employment continues to increase along the
SR 59 corridor, predominantly from the Wal-
Mart Plaza (Hibbet Sporting Goods, Good
Will Store, Radio Shack additions). The
Brimfield JEDD generated $146,791 since
December or 1995.
10. Distribution Examples
Franklin Kent JEDD (since February ’07)
• City: $541, 132 Township: $442,744
Brimfield Kent JEDD (since December ’05)
• City: $80,735 Township: $66,056
• .5% Maintenance Set-Aside
