To Whom It May Concern,
It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for K.C. Compton. I was employed
with K.C. at Ogden Publications Inc. for 15 years and worked with her on numerous projects
during that time. K.C.’s role with the company expanded over the years first as Managing
Editor of Mother Earth News then on to Editor-in-Chief of Grit, Capper’s, Herb Companion
and Herbs for Health magazines. She was tirelessly enthusiastic and positive about her job,
an attitude that definitely trickled down to her staff. K.C. has a real talent for recognizing
untapped skills and potential in others. She was always looking for ways to empower and
encourage those that worked for her and create more valuable team members. I’d not be
surprised if there was a small army of young writers who considered her a mentor as she
was always taking someone under her wing here at Ogden. Besides her supervisory abilities,
K.C. is one of the most creative people I know. Whether writing, telling a story or figuring
out how to complete a project, she has always found a way to put her unique perspective to
good use and come up with a solution.
I cannot say enough positive things about K.C. and what a good asset I believe she’d be for
any company. I really enjoyed my time working with her and miss every day the enthusiasm
she brought to our office.
