Jon Scieszka is an American author and founder of Guys Read, a literacy organization. He was born in 1954 in Flint, Michigan and earned his Master's in Children's Literature from Columbia University in 1980. Scieszka has received numerous awards for his picture books, including the Caldecott Medal in 1993 for The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales.
