Jimmy Carter was born in 1924 in Plains, Georgia. He served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. In 2002, Carter received the Nobel Peace Prize for his work through the Carter Center to find peaceful solutions to conflicts, promote democracy and human rights, and encourage economic and social development.
