I have fifteen (15) years of experience in both state wide insurance defense
and plaintiff law firms. I've litigated thousands of cases in almost every type of
injury and disability claim.
I am listed by Kentucky Super Lawyers as one of the top workers'
compensation attorneys in Kentucky, now. This is in addition to my other litigation
experience. Finally and during my legal career, I've had litigation successes
handling the "messy cases" including civil liberty, medical negligence, and
wrongful death (2 during my career) claims.
* Pre-litigation consultation relating to risk management, loss control and
liability assessment in almost every type of injury or disability claim.
* Settlement negotiations, implementing new and creative approaches in the
negotiation and drafting of settlement agreements, including structured
settlements, coordination of social security disability awards, coordination
of short and long-term disability benefits and general corporate releases.
* Extensive Court, Formal Hearing and appellate practice before the Kentucky
Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court of Kentucky.
* Handling subrogation claims, including complex multiparty civil litigation,
settlement negotiations, coordination and apportionment of benefits.
* Representation of employers, carriers, and third party administrators under
the Unfair Settlement Claims Practices Act.
* Representing employers, carriers, and third party administrators with 250
or more employees.
