Vijaya Bhava represents the California University of Management & Sciences Class of 2016 as the graduate speaker. In his speech, he thanks the administration, faculty, and supporters for helping the graduates achieve success. He encourages the graduates to never give up and keep trying, just as they have worked hard to complete their degrees. Vijaya reminds the graduates that they have gained an education that will serve as a stepping stone to their futures. He wishes the graduates every success and knows they will make the world a better place.

1. President, Trustees, Director, Faculty, family, friends and fellow graduates, it is a
great honor to represent California University of Management & Sciences- Virginia
Class of 2016 as graduate speaker.
When I first sat down to write this speech, I was absolutely clueless about what
to do. That’s when I got a message from my mentor saying “Vijaya Bhava”
i.e. May You be victorious.
First, I'd like to thank the administration and faculty of California University of
Management & Sciences for their hard work and dedication on our behalf. I think that
University students often take their university experience for granted, as just the step
between high school and the real world.
Thomas A. Edison once said,
“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is
always to try just one more time.”
Fellow Graduates, today we are graduating as seniors & this summer or fall many
of us will start applying for entry-level jobs to begin our careers & some might
have plans of becoming an entrepreneur, thanks to everything we learned so far.
Each and everyone have worked hard every single day to maintain our grades. If
we get lower grades our hunger to achieve more has kept us motivating. We all
have improved ourselves than what we were before. Whether it’s studies or
being a better person than what we were yesterday.
Now as we move forward we have to keep the same idea of never giving up and
keep trying one more time. Keep faith in yourself and in the one’s who back you
up in your upcoming endeavors. Looking around at all of the people who helped
make us who we are today without them this journey wouldn’t have been possible.
They are our hope, our support, Pillars of our life. My wish for you is to become the
same hope; people need that.
As Joseph Chamberlain once said, “Even if we fail, we try again and again until we
succeed. “

2. As I am second from my family to follow my elder brother’s steps to graduate in
USA I know the hard work my brother put behind me, I do not take one bit of it for
granted. Dear Mom and Dad, Celebrate! Your naughty kid has made it through!
Thank you for raising me to be happy, healthy, motivated, and loved. I wouldn't be
here without your support and guidance. This day is yours as much as it is mine.
I also, thank every one of you who has made this university what it is and every one
of you who has supported me and my fellow students along the way. We have gotten
a great education here, which makes it far more than a step between high school and
the real world but rather a stepping-stone to our futures.
At California University of Management & Sciences we have learned the importance
of being on time, we have learned how to be respectful to our colleges & how to
accomplish our tasks in our own ways rather than finding shortcuts. Moving forward,
we know that in life we will be learning something new everyday. Life itself is an
education & your experiences are lessons.
Remember to carry the legacy of your own. For that I want to read out lines from my
favorite song.
“Do it for your people, Do it for your pride
how are you going to know if you not going to even try?
Do it for your country, Do it for your name.
Cause there's going to be a day
When your, standing in the hall of fame! “
Now, I wish all my fellow graduates every success in the years ahead and I know that
you will do your part in making this world a better place.
