Jacques Cartier was a French explorer who sailed to North America in search of a Northwest Passage to Asia and new riches to colonize. He encountered harsh winters, disease like scurvy, and fights with Native Americans, making his exploration difficult. Despite these obstacles, he discovered the St. Lawrence River, an important waterway connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes.

of exploration
Jacques Cartier was from France and sailed for them.
He was curious and wanted to find many things like to
find a Northwest Passage to Asia. He also wanted to
discover new riches there and to colonize the New
World.

3. Obstacles he encountered
Jacques encountered very harsh winters and disease
called scurvy. He also had bad fight with the Native
Americans. This made it hard for him.

4. Result Of Exploration
He discovered the St. Lawrence River which connects
the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes.
