Project title: Generation Rescheduling for Congestion Management Using Particle
Swarm Optimization.
Description: Congestion in transmission lines due to sudden increase in load
demand, tripping of some transmission lines or some equipment
failure. The system is said to be congested when it reaches its certain
transfer limits. We have to relieve the congestion and that’s why our
first choice is Generation Rescheduling. By Generation rescheduling
the contracts of generator units are changed so that our rescheduling
cost is minimized. Particle Swarm Optimization is the Optimization
method. It works on bird flocking and fish schooling. PSO has very easy
code to implement. I have implement PSO for generation rescheduling
on MATLAB tool.
