Jackson Pollock was an American painter known for his unique style of drip painting. He created abstract expressionist works by pouring and splattering paint onto large canvases in a spontaneous manner. Pollock's painting No. 31 from 1950 demonstrates his signature technique of dripping and splattering paint directly from the can or stick onto an unstretched canvas on the floor.
