The Capital Dublin
Dublin has always been the cultural centre of Ireland and one of the significant places in Europe in this
aspect.
It is notorious for the bright figures in the fields of art and especially literature that were born or worked
here.
The development of Georgian Dublin, and the Fitzwilliam lands in the south of the city, radically
changed the character and scale of old medieval Dublin to a university city, with two cathedrals, the
home of the Irish parliament, possessed of noble public and private buildings.
Eighteenth century Dublin was one of the great cities of Europe.
Architecture:
Dublin is diverse – a modern and vibrant city, it’s become home to the likes of Google, while a host of innovative
restaurants and bars have also popped up. This cosmopolitan capital also boasts a rich history – you’ll find
stunning examples of Dublin architecture dating right back to the ‘Dubh Linn’ (‘black pool’) settlement.

Some places to visit:
The predominant religion in the Republic of
Ireland is Christianity, with the largest church
being the Roman Catholic Church. The Irish
constitution says that the state may not
endorse any particular religion and
guarantees freedom of religion.
Religion:
Traditional Clothing
 It came in 1900-kilt Modern tapestries  Work clothes
Performing arts:
As befits a city with a strong literary tradition, Dublin has a thriving theatre scene while a youthful population
ensures plenty of concerts and music events.
There are many theatre venues ranging from the world-famous Abbey which specialises in the work of Irish
playrights, to the more experimental Project and Peacock to the Victorian spendour of the Gaeity and the
Olympia.
Ireland has a long tradition of folk dancing.

Curiosities
 Is the third largest island in Europe and the twentieth largest in the world.
 Wedding and funeral are very big events. A funeral lasts up to three days. And all
people and relatives go to a restaurant to have a meal together (paid by the dead
person´s relatives), and drink guiness in the honour of the dead person.
 The pixie is a symbol in Ireland. These are known as Leprechauns, and have
already existed in Irish legend since medieval times. The elves are small, human-
looking, and wear green suit. Leprechauns collect gold, store it in pots and place
them at the end of the rainbow.
Conclusion
More than talking about Ireland,
is to contemplate a country in which beauty speaks for itself.
Thank you for your attention, and have a good time.
