The main discrepancies between the Microsoft Surface Pro and the iPad Pro are not as apparent in the specifications. The difference is more in the ability of the
device to accomplish multitasking in the classroom. Additionally, the availability and the capability to run multiple apps simultaneously varies between the two
devices. The Surface Pro 4 provides better processing capability and more memory which makes running the wide variety of applications for Windows 10 a breeze.
The iPad Pro is geared more toward a tablet experience with a selection of light apps that load quickly. For more complex applications, the Windows platform
offers better capability in terms of running data intensive classroom applications. The Surface Pro 4 is more aimed at educational institutions and businesses trying
to integrate a functional tablet model into their curriculum without sacrificing Windows capability and compatibility.
If you are undecided, the easiest way to determine the best value is to decide exactly what you are looking for in a classroom device. For instance, if you primarily

Surface Pen: The Surface Pen provides students

notes, draw, or modify digital documents. The
Surface Pen feels like you are writing with a
conventional pen and paper with a point on one
end and a functional eraser on the other. Additio-
nally, you can rest your wrist on the screen to
draw on the display, convert handwriting to text,
and highlight important information when reading
eBooks or PDF documents.
Surface Pen Kit: Add the Surface Pen Tip Kit to
expand your options to switch from a ballpoint
pen type of experience to a #2 pencil. The kit is
compatible with the newest version of the Surface
Pen.
Smart Keyboard: The Smart Keyboard is a Type
Cover which clicks in place to instantly convert
Surface Pro 4 from a tablet to a laptop. The
keyboard is available in a variety of colours
including black, blue, bright blue, red, and teal.
There is also a Surface Pro 4 keyboard with
fingerprint ID which helps your students to easily
unlock the device using this technology.

Apple Pencil: The Apple Pencil is Apple’s proprietary
technology and expands on the versatility of
Multi-Touch technology. The pencil is equipped with
accurate pressure sensors which sense the different
types of pressure you typically apply when using a
conventional pencil. To create thicker lines, press
harder. For thinner lines, use a lighter touch. The
Apple Pencil also can be charged using the Lightning
connector under the magnetic cap which attaches to
the Lightning port in the iPad Pro.
Smart Keyboard: The Smart Keyboard is designed to
fold and unfold and converts the iPad Pro to a laptop.
It also functions as a protective cover for the tablet
device when not in use. The durable fabric is desig-
