Madai Waterfall
- Kunak is a small town and frequently visited
by local residents.
-A 40-metre high waterfall located in the
Madai-Baturong Forest Reserve Nature Centre,
15km from Kunak on the East Coast of Sabah..
- One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sabah.
Only problem is getting there without your
own transportation.
- far away from Kota Kinabalu and seldom
visited by foreign tourists. But locals do picnic
here during weekends.
If you're coming from Tawau(after you've turned right from
Tawau heading towards Lahad Datu)you will see this sign.

Ten minutes later, on your right you
will see Pusat Sejadi Hutan Simpan
Madai Baturong Kunak
After passing by Kunak town
junction, drive for another 10
minutes, and you will see this bus stop on
your right. Behind the bus stop is the
entrance to Madai Baturong Forest
Reserve.

Steep down to the falls - 1 minute
Pay an entrance fee of RM2.00 and a short walk down the staircase
will bring you to the awesome Madai Fall. The park is quite small but
well maintained with restroom and shower facilities.
It can get crowded during weekends because of the easy accessibility

Nature Centre
- The Madai – Baturong Forest Reserve
Nature Centre has been classified as a
Class 1 forest reserve and is an
excellent place for a day of cave
exploration trip.
- Madai is basically a bird cave where
the popular birds nest delicacy
originates, while the Baturong cave is
riddled with several caverns which
contain ancient coffins.
- In addition to its canopy walkway,
visitors of this forest reserve should not
miss the chance to take a dip in the
cool crystal clear stream of its scenic
waterfalls.

To get to the Madai - Baturong Forest
Reserve Nature Centre, visitors can
either take a 55-minute flight
(MAS) from Kota Kinabalu to Lahad
Datu or travel by road by taking a 7-
hour bus ride
