In other words, Individual-discipline is training
yourself to be better.
The sixteen Samskaras or purifying sacraments in
order to make his individual life completely pure,
safe and sound in all respect and keep himself free
from all sins.
Each Individual of the
society was expected to
behave in a particular way
irrespective of his caste.
He or She was to respect
his parents and other
elders of the family.
Support all the members
of the society.
Individual-discipline is like a muscle. The more
you train it, then you become stronger.
The less you train it, then you become weaker

Role of Purusartha in Individual
Discipline
The Purusartha are to prepare each individual to be a
perfect human being and a useful member of the
society . It was enjoined upon each individual to attain
the four absolute attainments
1. Dharma
2. Artha
3. Kama
4. Moksha
Dharma
• Righteous living- moral integrity.
• The fulfillment of virtue, good work, duties, and
responsibilities.
•The four primary form; Satya, Tapa, Pavitrata, and Daya.
Artha
•Worldly passessions or wealth-money, properties etc .
for the basic needs.
•Necessity for householders.
•Measured by not only rich but Quality of life.
•Greatest and best wealth is remembrance of God
Kama
• Worldly sensual pleasure, love / lust, and enjoyment.
•Necessity and practice in Grihastashram , but within
boundaries.
•In this way the karma is not necessity bad things.
Moksha
• Final liberation and Ultimate salvation.
• Freedom from birth and rebirth.
• Mukti on Earth
