This poem is a eulogy for someone named Sherry who recently passed away. It expresses sadness at losing a dear friend who provided support during difficult times. The author finds comfort knowing Sherry is now in God's hands and hopes they will meet again someday. The poem closes by reiterating that Sherry had a golden heart and was one of the best people taken by God.
2. My friend, my friend
Oh what have you done?
You’ve gone and left us
All and one
3. To think of a world
Without your laugh
Your smile, your frown
Your jaded half
4. You always shone
So very bright
That day will seem
So close to night
5. You taught me much
You held my hand
When times were rough
You helped me stand
I wish I could have been
That hand for you
To lift you up
And get you through
6. So I will mourn
And I will weep
As you are now
God’s to keep
7. May He hold you
Within His arms
And keep you safe
From every harm
8. Look down upon us
Your family and friends
Know that we love you
Forever, no end
9. Know that I’ll miss you
And although I cry
I know you’re in God’s hands
So I won’t say goodbye
10. Dance among the stars
My friend
Until God lets us
Meet again
11. In Loving Memory of Sherry
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to
be. So He put His arms around you and
whispered “come to me.” With tearful eyes we
watched you, and saw you pass away. Although
we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working
hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
