 Resume is a document used & created by a person
to present their Background, Skills &
Accomplishments”.
 Resume makes easy to screening a potential
employee from bulk of applicants.
 Resume creates our first impression on employer so
make it simple & professional.
 You Have only 25 seconds to make a good
Impression.
Professional Resume
 Today in corporate world the hiring process
have changed.
 Now all recruiters looking for skilled &
knowledgeable employee, Instead of
academically strong person
 Employers are not interested in candidates
academic marks, Caste, Gender, Maritial Status.
 They Have main Focus on Career Objectives,
Accomplishments, Achievements, Skills, IT
Proficiency etc.
 In 2020 decade the format of resume and cover
letter have been changed from Normal to
Professional design.

Think of Your Resume as a
Marketing Tools
 Its easy to think of your resume as a summary of
your work experience, but a resume isn’t just
about listing your professional history.
 It is a strategic tool for marketing your individual
brand.
 The recruiter is seeking a candidate who fits a
job description & can bring value of an
organization.
 Recruiter don’t have time to delve into your
resume & figure out who you are, so you need
to connect the dots for them.
 Make sure your resume tells a clear story about
who you are as a professional
Identify Accomplishments not
just Job descriptions
 Hiring Managers, Especially in Technical fields
like engineering, seek candidates that can help
them solve a problem or satisfy a need within
their company.
 You can’t be a solution to their problems
without stating how you solved similar problems
in other companies & situations
 Focus on what you did in the Job, not what your
job was there’s a difference
 Include a one or two top line job description first
then list your accomplishments.
 Accomplishments should ne unique to you, not
just a list of what someone else did.
 Avoid using the generic descriptions of the jobs
you originally applied for or held
Tailor your Resume to Each
New Job
 Along similar lines you won’t have much luck
sending off dozens of the same resume to lots of
different employer instead of treating your
resumes like a form letter, Tailor it to each new
role.

confidence in the hiring manager.
Replace your Objectives with a
Career Summary
 A career summary is designed to give a brief
overview of who you are & what you do.
 Most Objectives sound similar, seeking a
challenging, interesting position in X where I Can
use my Skills of X, Y and Z to Contribute to the
Bottom line Not telling at all.
 Spend time developing a summary that immediately
gets their attention & accurately & Powerfully
describes you as a solution to their Problems
Network, Network, Network
 For unemployed candidates, handling out
resumes should be a full time job the majority
of mid to senior level positions are filled
through networking.
 Contact absolutely everyone you know in
addition to recruiters who are in a position to
hire you or share insights.
