The US Citizenship and Immigration Services issued a new Form I-9 that is required for individuals hired on or after March 8, 2013. The new form features several changes including an effective date of May 7, 2013 to still allow use of the prior form, adding fields for passport information and the employee's name on page 2, and redesigning the employer certification section. Employers are advised to utilize the new form while taking note of these changes and clarifications.
