This is my opinion on what we should do about the immigration issue in America.

Immigration
A problem that our country has faced for a long time is immigration, or people coming
into our country illegally. People have an absolutely huge problem with people coming in
illegally specifically from the South; Mexico. I honestly think that people overreact about it and
it comes off as racism to me a lot of the time. People say they take our jobs and there isn’t
enough room for them, but I don’t know about that. If someone is worried about losing a job
then get better at your job, be so good that you can’t be replaced and if you are replaced then be
good enough to find another job.
I think that the solution to this is not being so impossible in letting people come into the
country. Have a set way to get in and let people know. Dr. Harold Blanco told us that
someone’s admittance into this country depended on the immigration officer’s impression of the
people requesting admittance; it shouldn’t be that way. To fix this problem there should be a set
criteria that people who want to come into this country and we should let them know what they
need to do; they should never not have a clue if they will be admitted. If they fulfil what the
criteria is asking then they should be admitted. Another thing, we shouldn’t just focus on people
coming from Mexico into America. People come from all over the world illegally, we should
make everyone meet a certain criteria and not be so hard on certain groups of people. Diversity

2. is a great characteristic to polish up on and this is a situation where America could really build
on its own diversity.
