Spexor from Bosch provides security to go
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
6
Solution Description
According to current crime statistics, people in Germany report around 240 domestic burglaries and almost 600 thefts from vehicles every day (source: Polizeiliche
Kriminalstatistik 2019). Especially when it comes to areas that are difficult to secure and monitor, such as attics, laundry rooms, garages, and community gardens, or even
caravans and vintage cars, the only security solutions available are often intended exclusively for individual use cases. With Spexor, Bosch has developed a mobile alarm device
that people can use flexibly in almost any location and for a wide range of applications. Its powerful battery means the device remains active for several weeks, while software
updates ensure it is always up to date. Spexor is the size of a coffee cup and houses several sensors that detect motion, sound, and changes to air pressure in a radius of
approximately five meters around the device. “What sets Bosch’s compact security guard apart are the high precision and intelligent combination of its sensors, enabling Spexor
to reliably detect break-ins,” says co-developer Riedel. If, for instance, the device is placed in garden shed and a football bounces against the window, the sound and pressure
sensors detect the change. However, this alone does not set off the alarm. Only when Spexor detects movement inside the shed does the sensitive security device trigger the
alarm and send a warning to the user’s smartphone. Depending on the individual settings, the device also sounds an alarm and the built-in LEDs flash red as a direct deterrent
to burglars. Not only is Bosch’s mobile, multi-sensor alarm device suitable for use at home; thanks to its rechargeable battery, it can be placed almost anywhere that security is
important. A Wi-Fi connection or cellular network is all Spexor needs to do its job when a break-in occurs. With a battery life of several weeks, this little security guard is an
ideal partner for tasks like protecting motorhomes when parked or looking after expensive equipment, tools, or winter tires stored in a garden shed. Another factor that means
Spexor can be used almost anywhere is that it can be operated and stored at ambient temperatures of –10 to +60 degrees Celsius. Data privacy was also a top priority in the
development of the alarm device: Spexor has no camera and does not analyze or store any voice data. And when it is turned off, it really is off.

Solution Description
Ford Motor Company, Bedrock and Bosch are launching a demonstration project with connected Ford Escape test vehicles that can drive and park themselves inside
Bedrock’s Assembly Garage in Detroit using Bosch smart infrastructure. This is the first U.S. infrastructure-based solution for automated valet parking where the vehicle
will park itself inside a parking garage. The research will take place in the Corktown neighborhood, the site of Ford’s new mobility innovation district, anchored by
Michigan Central Station. The district will draw mobility innovators and disruptors from around the world to develop, test, and launch new solutions to solve urban
transportation challenges, improve mobility access for everyone and prepare for the increasingly connected and autonomous world ahead. The demonstration project will
be on display on the ground floor of Bedrock’s Assembly Garage, the real estate developer’s first residential redevelopment project in the Corktown neighborhood. The
project aligns with Bedrock’s vision of combining ground up and historical developments with the newest technology in parking and mobility - including the current
installation of the Midwest’s first automated parking stall, which parks and retrieves vehicles in the basement of the Free Press Building using street-level load bays. The
connected Ford test vehicles operate in a highly automated fashion by vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication with Bosch’s intelligent parking infrastructure. The
infrastructure sensors recognize and localize the vehicle to guide its parking maneuver, including the ability to help avoid pedestrians and other hazards. If the
infrastructure senses something in the vehicle’s path, it can stop the vehicle immediately.

Health Canada Licenses First Artificial Intelligence Algorithms Embedded
On-Device to Prioritize Critical Chest X-ray Review
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
11
Solution Description
GE Healthcare announced Health Canada’s license of Critical Care Suite, an industry-first collection of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms embedded on a
mobile X-ray device. Built in collaboration with Humber River Hospital in Toronto, using GE Healthcare’s Edison platform, the AI algorithms help to reduce the
turn-around time it can take for radiologists to review a suspected pneumothorax, a type of collapsed lung. Currently, 62 percent of exams are marked ‘STAT’ or
for urgent reading[1], but they aren’t all critical. A prioritized “STAT” X-ray can sit waiting for up to eight hours for a radiologist’s review[1]. However, when a
patient is scanned on a device with Critical Care Suite, the system automatically analyzes the images, searching for a pneumothorax. If a pneumothorax is
suspected, an alert – along with the original chest X-ray – is sent directly to the radiologist for review via picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
The bedside care team also receives an on-device notification to provide awareness of the prioritized cases. Quality-focused AI algorithms simultaneously analyze
and flag protocol and field of view errors as well as auto rotate the images on-device to save technologists time and simplify workflow. To further assist
technologists and radiologists, Critical Care Suite also includes an:
• On-Device Pneumothorax Alert which is flagged as soon as the X-ray image is acquired, if a pneumothorax is detected;
• AI Score from 0 to 100 in which the higher the score, the more confident the algorithm is that a pneumothorax is detected;
• Image Overlay that can be seen on-device (as well as on the Secondary Capture image sent to PACS) and has accurately localized 96% of positive pneumothorax
findings; and
• Customization of preferences which allows users to set an AI operating point (five setting options) in order to tune the performance of the system to preferred
sensitivity or specificity.

Solution Description
On a quest to break the carbon barrier in commercial flight, a team of scientists at GE Research will design and develop a high-efficiency, carbon-neutral enabling
hybrid electric propulsion system that is capable of powering a commercial narrow body aircraft under the eFLITES and FLyCLEEN projects respectively. These
planes are the workhorse of the aviation industry, with more than 16,000 planes flying globally. GE Research has been awarded two projects through ARPA-E’s
ASCEND and REEACH programs, which are part of $33 million in funding the agency recently announced to support 17 different projects to advance hybrid
electric aviation systems technology. Chief Engineer for Propulsion Technologies at GE Research says ARPA-E’s programs will greatly accelerate new
developments toward a net-zero carbon flight future and notes that many of the answers can be found through innovations made in the energy space. As part of the
two projects, GE researchers will be partnering with engineers in both its Aviation and Gas Power businesses, as well as US laboratories & academic institutions,
to support new developments. The first is a $2.5 million REEACH project focused on developing a multi-megawatt power generation system that turns a carbon
neutral biofuel into electricity called FLyCLEEN (FueL CelL Embedded ENgine). The second is a $2.3 million ASCEND project that involves developing the
electric drive, or powertrain system, which converts that electricity to mechanically drive the propulsor, called eFLITES (Electric Flightworthy Lightweight
Integrated Thermally Enhanced Powertrain System). The projects with ARPA-E will build upon other efforts underway by GE Research and GE Aviation to
promote hybrid electric systems. Last year, GE Research announced a $12 million program with NASA to develop a next generation inverter that meets the size,
power, efficiency and altitude requirements specified by NASA for flight applications. The inverter is a central component of an electric aircraft propulsion system
that provides power to drive the electric motor.

Solution Description
The WGI Worldwide Company and GE announced the launch of Lyra, a new app-based education platform that uses innovative advanced speech recognition and
touch screen analysis to teach reading and writing. It was co-developed by WGI and GE. The app represents the start of WGI’s transition to a digital provider of
literacy learning, and makes learning literacy skills more accessible for both adults and children. The app’s 26 modules are based on the evidence-based synthetic
phonics approach to literacy and build on the foundation of WGI’s six years of in-person education. Globally, more than 700 million people cannot read or write.
This limits their ability to gain employment, improve their career prospects, or pursue higher education. It also can have a far-reaching impact on mental health.
Lyra now offers a solution for all of them. The Lyra app features an engaging space-themed interface and user experience. The theme reflects the name of the app
– Lyra, which is the brightest constellation in the night sky. The app teaches letters and words by presenting them on the screen, pronouncing them, and then
inviting users to say the letters and words out loud. Powerful voice recognition technology then analyzes the response. The app also uses the phone’s touch screen
to prompt learners to write the letters or words they are studying, then analyzes the results to tell them whether or not the writing is correct. WGI and GE are poised
to continue their partnership by working on developing new versions of the app to provide literacy lessons in other languages. Currently, the app provides more
than two years’ worth of English language literacy lessons and is designed for those who speak English, whether as a first language or as a foreign language, but
can’t read or write it. It is available for download now on the Apple and Android app stores as Lyra by WGI.

Solution Description
For decades, aerospace companies and their customers have drowned in cumbersome documentation processes and storage mechanisms. Honeywell is solving
those problems by fully integrating aircraft record generation into its digital blockchain ledger. This provides Honeywell's customers with an easy way to search
and retrieve scattered data through a simple user interface, creating a level of speed and efficiency never before available in the aerospace industry. Quick and easy
access to this data is critical for airlines because most use dozens of repair facilities, and the paperwork from each is not integrated. Additionally, airlines and
operators commonly deal with lost, printed paperwork associated with a part. This paperwork, or "trace documents," are critical to maintaining the value of a part's
worth. Honeywell's blockchain is a secure, decentralized database crowd-sourced by all its authorized users. Each user that Honeywell allows has a copy of the
database and knows its contents in real time. Instead of storing only PDF documents or a reference to the digital aircraft record, Honeywell now stores the actual
form data "on chain." This data is used to re-construct aircraft records, including records that prove the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has certified that
aircraft parts are safe to fly. These records can be accessed by customers, and in the case where paperwork is missing, customers can simply input the part number
and serial number and the user interface will retrieve the data from the blockchain and "rebuild" the missing document.

Solution Description
Robotaxi startup Voyage introduced its third-generation vehicle, the G3, this week. The autonomous vehicle, a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan retrofitted with
self-driving technology, is the company’s first designed to operate without a driver and is equipped with an ambulance-grade ultraviolet light disinfectant system
to keep passengers healthy. The new vehicles use the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Pegasus compute platform to enable the startup’s self-driving AI for robust perception
and planning. The automotive-grade platform delivers safety to the core of Voyage’s autonomous fleet. Given the enclosed space and the proximity of the driver
and passengers, ride-hailing currently poses a major risk in a COVID-19 world. By implementing a disinfecting system alongside driverless technology, Voyage
is ensuring self-driving cars will continue to develop as a safer, more efficient alternative to everyday mobility. The G3 vehicle uses an ultraviolet-C system from
automotive supplier GHSP to destroy pathogens in the vehicle between rides. UV-C works by inactivating a pathogen’s DNA, blocking its reproductive cycle. It’s
been proven to be up to 99.9 percent effective and is commonly used to sterilize ambulances and hospital rooms. The G3 is production-ready and currently testing
on public roads in San Jose, Calif., with production vehicles planned to come out next year. Voyage has been using the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform in its
previous-generation vehicles to power its Shield automatic emergency braking system. With the G3, the startup is unleashing the 320 TOPS of performance from
NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Pegasus to process sensor data and run diverse and redundant deep neural networks simultaneously for driverless operation. Voyage’s
onboard computers are automotive grade and safety certified, built to handle the harsh vehicle environment for safe daily operation.

Solution Description
Tempered – a leading zero-trust SDP provider – announced new hardware and software designed to protect data, applications, and devices across on-premise,
remote, and cloud environments. The new version 2.2.8 software split tunnel includes improved user onboarding, Alibaba Cloud support, high-availability and
performance enhancements, and other improvements. Also announced and available immediately is the Airwall 110-Series. Tempered’s new 110-Series hardware
gateway is ideal for distributed edge deployments where secure connectivity and remote access are needed. The 110e supports ethernet, while the 110g includes
support for cellular modems for truly last-mile connectivity. Both can be deployed to protect, connect, and manage devices at the IoT edge or inside an operational
technology (OT) environment. Key examples include critical infrastructure plants, temporary COVID-19 testing and blood donation sites, election locations and
newly distributed enterprises as a result of the pandemic. Airwall uses the industry’s only truly native zero-trust approach to enable microsegmented, secure
networking for important network assets by making them invisible to unauthorized users such as insider threats, external bad actors, and even nation states – while
enabling authorized users to connect to the ‘things’ they need from anywhere in the world. Protecting critical infrastructure is vital given that 7 out of 10 breaches
in 2019 were perpetrated by external actors, according to the Verizon 2020 DBI Report. Plus, during the COVID-19 period, cybercrime has quadrupled, the
healthcare industry is seeing a rise in patient data hacks, and there have been multiple attacks on electricity grids, water systems and energy organizations.
Tempered’s enhanced technology can help proactively defend against these growing threats.

Solution Description
Rakuten, Inc., announced that the company, as a member of the Hakuba Mountain Drone Logistics Committee, has conducted a successful demonstration of
delivering supplies via drone flight beyond visual range at an altitude difference of up to approximately 1600m from Sarukuraso (altitude 1250m) at the foot of
Mt. Shirouma in Nagano Prefecture’s Hakuba to the mountain huts Hakuba Sanso (2832m) and Hakubadake Chojoshukusha huts (2730m) located at the top of Mt.
Shirouma. This trial marks the first time that supplies have been delivered by drone in a mountainous region in Japan where the difference in altitude between
takeoff and landing locations reached approximately 1600m. The month-long trial was conducted from mid-August to mid-September of this year. The goal of the
Hakuba Mountain Drone Logistics Committee, comprised of 11 companies, organizations and municipalities*1, including the village of Hakuba in Nagano
Prefecture, was to overcome challenges in delivering supplies to mountainous regions, with Rakuten being responsible for the provision of drone delivery solutions
and operations. This delivery was made over a route approximately 5km long, from Sarukuraso (1250m) at the foot of Mt. Shirouma (2932m) in Hakuba, to one
of Japan’s highest mountain huts, Hakuba Sanso (2832m) at the summit and Hakubadake Chojoshukusha hut (2730m). The drone managed to deliver peaches and
pears — fruits easily damaged by vibrations — and other supplies weighing up to 5kg without any damage. Additionally, the time for this delivery, which takes
around seven hours using traditional methods such as carrying supplies on foot*2, was reduced to around 15 minutes via drone flight. On the return trip from
Hakuba Sanso to Sarukuraso, scrapped construction materials were loaded into a delivery box and delivered back.

ESI Group, world player in Virtual Prototyping software and services for industrials, supports KION Group, a global leader in industrial trucks, related services and supply
chain solutions, in the design of its product development. ESI's Virtual Reality software IC.IDO, enables them to accelerate their digital transformation and increase productivity
by reducing or even eliminating the need for physical prototypes during production processes. ESI has been supporting KION Group since 2018 in the evolution of its industrial
product design methodologies. The collaboration began at KION's Châtellerault production site for forklift trucks of its Fenwick brand and was strengthened in 2019 in
Germany with the STILL and Linde Material Handling brands. ESI is currently operating in 4 of the group's production sites in France, Germany and China. Positioned as an
agent of change working alongside KION Group’s experts, ESI is one of the companies involved in the digital transformation of the handling giant’s industrial design tool. ESI
IC.IDO Virtual Reality software enables production lines and assembly to be planned at an early stage thanks to high-end visualization. Real-time physical simulation ensures
realistic behavior of virtual, tested and approved products. This service extends to the maintenance of product components that can be evaluated even before a physical
prototype is realized. Thus, the performance of the solution, which allows a large and complex data to be visualized, opens up the possibility of testing multiple design and
product "customization" scenarios. ESI meets KION's initial need to increase productivity by reducing time-to-market and overall costs. To achieve this goal, the teams had to
reconsider the Test-and-Learn approach which consists of simulating a product and then creating a real prototype and so on until the simulated and real models match. Another
benefit is that the solution can be used by all kind of profiles within the company – not only industrial engineering experts but also marketing and sales teams. The user interface
allows multiple departments to manipulate the prototype in a fluid and intuitive way.

and Mahmut Sevket) feature forty-nine of GE’s 3 MW onshore wind turbines, with a total capacity of 158 MW will provide renewable energy to the region, powering the
equivalent of 183,000 homes. The Kirazli wind farm installation presented significant technical challenges as the site is located at the top of a hill and at the end of a narrow,
winding 20-kilometer rural road crossing farms and villages. GE locally produced the blades at its LM Wind Power’s wind turbines blades manufacturing site in Bergama, Izmir,
Turkey, which has more than 450 employees. GE Renewable Energy is a $15 billion business which combines one of the broadest portfolios in the renewable energy industry
to provide end-to-end solutions for our customers demanding reliable and affordable green power. Combining onshore and offshore wind, blades, hydro, storage, utility-scale
solar, and grid solutions as well as hybrid renewables and digital services offerings, GE Renewable Energy has installed more than 400+ gigawatts of clean renewable energy
and equipped more than 90 percent of utilities worldwide with its grid solutions. With nearly 40,000 employees present in more than 80 countries, GE Renewable Energy creates
value for customers seeking to power the world with affordable, reliable and sustainable green electrons.

GE to Provide Electric Propulsion Systems to Royal Netherlands Navy new Combat Support Ship
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
34
GE’s Power Conversion business have signed a contract with Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS) to deliver an energy management and electric propulsion package intended
for the new Combat Support Ship (CSS) in use at Royal Netherlands Navy. GE’s robust, proven electric propulsion technology was selected for its low noise signature, high level of
reliability and commonality with the Joint Support Ship (HNLMS Karel Doorman). One of the customer’s key concerns is underwater radiated noise, meaning strict noise and vibration
levels are imposed on the propulsion systems. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) voltage source inverters feed robust, high-torque density induction motors, allowing high-performance
through the modern and optimized propulsion system. GE’s scope of supply includes the main switchboards for the ship distribution system, with two shore connection cubicles, the
main electric propulsion system with two shaft lines of 7.9 MW each, as well as the associated power management and remote-control systems. The ship’s Energy Management
System, which controls power generation and distribution systems, also supplied by GE, will ensure availability of electrical power in the ship network. By utilizing an existing vessel
design, that one of the Joint Support Ship (JSS) already in operation with the Royal Netherlands Navy, GE and DSNS will be able to deliver the ship in June 2024. The CSS will be
built by Damen in Romania, after which the ship’s combat management system – amongst others – will be installed in Den Helder, Netherlands. The engineering of the vessel will
largely take place in the Netherlands, with a large number of systems and components being delivered by Dutch suppliers. Once built, the CSS vessel will supplement the existing JSS,
HNLMS Karel Doorman. The CSS, by its 180-meters almost in length, will accommodate 75-persons basic crew with capacity for an additional 85 persons on-board. The CSS vessel
has capacity for two helicopters and up to twenty-five containers, it will be able to support longer maritime operations, both nationally and internationally. This increases the
effectiveness of both national and combined operations performed by the Royal Netherlands Navy.

Kongsberg Maritime and Massterly (a Kongsberg Wilhelmsen joint venture) have signed contracts with the leading Norwegian grocery distributor ASKO to
equip two new vessels with autonomous technology, and to manage their operations at sea. With Norwegian companies delivering around 60% of the
investment, this is a major milestone for the growth of sustainable maritime operations in Norway. The fully electric ships will replace 2 million kilometres
of truck transport, saving 5,000 tonnes of CO2 every year. ASKO – currently transporting their cargo by more than 800 trucks daily – is committed to
sustainability and is investing heavily in new technologies such as electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles. At present, road transport is the single mode of
transportation to link their warehouses on the western side of the Oslo fjord with their distribution centre on the eastern side. The new RORO (Roll on, Roll
off) vessels will replace the current solution with a zero emission transport alternative. ENOVA has supported the project – including the required port
infrastructure – with 119 MNOK, in line with the Norwegian society's commitment to reduce emissions and transfer transport from road to sea where
feasible. Kongsberg Maritime has a proven track record as an enabler for sustainable maritime logistics, and this ability has been further strengthened through
the partnership with Wilhelmsen. The vessels will be equipped with the technology required for zero emission and unmanned operation by Kongsberg
Maritime, while Massterly will ensure ship management and safe operations from their shore-based Remote Operations Centre. The two vessels will initially
operate with a reduced crew, before moving towards unmanned voyages.

Rimini Street, Inc., a global provider of enterprise software products and services, the leading third-party support provider for Oracle and SAP software products
and a Salesforce partner, announced that Rassini NHK Automotive (RNA), a leading automotive parts and accessories manufacturer in Brazil, has switched to
Rimini Street Support for its SAP ECC 6.0 applications. RNA plans to redirect the savings generated by migrating to Rimini Street Support for business expansion
and future innovation initiatives, including improving production management with Internet of Things (IoT) technology, deploying industry 4.0 predictive
maintenance in its manufacturing equipment, automating manual processes, and enhancing the company’s project management capabilities. RNA, a
Japanese-Mexican automotive group, is a leading provider of automotive parts and accessories across the region. The company’s products are distributed
nationally, covering passenger and light commercial vehicles equipped with coil springs, as well as pickups, trucks and buses equipped with spring bundles. With
a downturn in the automotive industry in Brazil, the company embarked on a widespread cost optimization initiative across the business, asking its department
leaders to identify and reduce fixed costs that were deemed unnecessary or non-critical to the company’s growth and survival. In addition, the company is
challenged with continuous innovation in a competitive market, which requires significant investment in engineering and new technologies. RNA’s IT department
had already been operating with a lean structure internally, but as it carried out its cost optimization due diligence, the support and maintenance costs for their SAP
system were immediately flagged. In addition, RNA’s CIO noted that the support provided by the vendor was not only expensive, with no new perceived innovation
or enhancements in the product releases to justify the high costs, but the vendor’s support was unsatisfactory as well. All of these reasons led RNA to explore
third-party support as an option, and ultimately the company chose Rimini Street Support.

Rimini Street third-party support, FPCO can run its existing SAP applications for at least 15 years from the time that it switched support providers, with no required
upgrades or migrations. Established in 1962, FPCO focuses on utilizing technology to maintain its leadership position in the manufacturing and marketing of
disposable food containers in Japan. In 2015, the company was recognized as a “Competitive IT Strategy Company” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and
Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange for successfully implementing a supply chain infrastructure network across Japan, with supply chain management
enterprise software at its core. The strategy was implemented to organically connect and advance FPCO’s development capabilities, purchasing power,
manufacturing capacity, distribution, recycling and information networks to ultimately improve its customer service levels. As part of this strategy, FPCO relies
heavily on its stable and mature SAP platform, which has been highly customized with many add-ons to meet its unique operational and business needs. After SAP
raised its annual maintenance fees, FPCO reassessed the value of SAP support fees and realized it could no longer justify the costs to remain supported by the
vendor. FPCO then evaluated third-party support to optimize costs and maximize the ROI for its SAP environment.

Strategic partnership: Bosch and SAP aim to simplify corporate processes with a new
standard
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
47
Bosch and SAP have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at simplifying digital corporate processes. The partners’ objective is to further develop a digital industrial standard that governs, for
example, the exchange and usage of company data along the value chain. This would harmonize and further automate processes, both within and between companies – thus achieving substantial
efficiency gains. Given the strength of both companies’ networks across different sectors, the whole economy stands to gain from their collaboration. The partnership holds special promise for the
manufacturing industry, and offers a particular benefit for the global automotive industry, with its highly interwoven supply chains and numerous production locations that are often still managed
individually. At the core of this collaboration is the transfer of Bosch business processes into SAP S/4HANA, SAP’s software suite for enterprise resource planning (ERP). The suite is used in the
planning, management, and administration of resources for a range of processes, including order entry, production, delivery, and invoicing. “Due to its industrial expertise and technology leadership
in several fields, Bosch plays a key role in global supply and value chains. Together we are pursuing the goal of translating this expertise into digital form, using SAP S/4HANA as a basis. In doing
so, we hope to define a uniform industry standard that will open up the advantages of the digital transformation to other industry players as well,” says The CEO of SAP SE. Process, technology, and
development experts from both companies are working closely together as they focus all their efforts on driving internal digitalization forward at Bosch. For example, the rollout and transformation
with SAP S/4HANA is intended to cut the number of ERP systems in half. In Bosch Mobility Solutions alone, the productive systems are to be reduced to just one. This will facilitate a considerable
increase in the options for real-time analysis and control optimization. With its in-depth expertise in multiple business fields and processes, Bosch will help shape the further development of SAP
S/4HANA – to its own benefit but also to the benefit of SAP’s large customer base. SAP will play a crucial role in the integration as partner and advisor, thanks to its multifaceted experience and market
leadership in managing ERP systems. The goal of standardizing and automating processes is to significantly simplify the global system landscape, continuously optimize workflows, and increase
confidence still further in dealing with real-time analysis. There is considerable potential for optimizing the exchange of requirements, planning, and needs, especially at the interfaces to suppliers and
to customers. For the first time, the latest technologies make this possible in real-time across the entire value chain and involving all parties. This leads to a permanent improvement in competitiveness
and agility, from the corporate management level all the way to production.

Bosch and Weichai Power increase efficiency of Weichai truck diesel engines to 50
percent

Bosch and the Chinese engine manufacturer Weichai Power have made a huge leap forward in engine technology. The two partners have successfully increased
the efficiency of Weichai diesel engine for heavy commercial vehicles up to 50 percent, thus setting a new global benchmark. Currently, thermal efficiency for
truck engines averages around 46 percent. “In increasing the efficiency by four percentage points, we have jointly reached a new milestone. Even though the diesel
engine is nearly 130 years old, its development continues,” said Chairman of the board of management of GmbH. In addition to its common-rail system with
injection pressure of 2,500 bar, Bosch also contributed its full technical know-how in fuel injection systems. Particularly when it comes to commercial vehicles,
and above all when heavy loads have to be transported over long distances, the diesel engine will remain the preferred choice for the foreseeable future. For this
reason, Bosch and Weichai aim to steadily refine this technology with an eye to protecting the climate and environment. Bosch and Weichai, China’s largest
manufacturer of engines for commercial vehicles, have enjoyed many years of partnership. Their strategic alliance began back in 2003. Over the 17 years since,
both companies have pooled their strengths and expertise in multiple endeavors, one of which was supplying the Chinese market with powerful, energy-efficient,
and eco-friendly diesel engines. Furthermore, Bosch and Weichai collaborate in several other areas, including the mobile fuel cell and driver assistance systems.
They are united by a common objective: making commercial vehicles even cleaner, safer, and more intelligent. Bosch and Weichai’s close partnership also extends
beyond vehicle technology – to Industry 4.0, for example, and in turn, the connectivity and digitalization of factories.

Global construction technology leader Trimble has recently announced a strategic partnership between Tekla Structures - Trimble’s flagship product and
Metal Building Software (MBS), the globally leading software for the Metal Building Industry. Under this alliance, the two companies have built an
exclusive link between MBS and Tekla Structures that delivers a full Building Information Modeling (BIM) process for all metal buildings. The exclusive
workflow between MBS and Tekla Structures will provide a single complete BIM solution from design & costing through detailing & fabrication for any
kind of metal building more accurately, and in lesser time than ever before. Companies in the pre-engineered building industry can use this exclusive link to
first analyze, design, and weight-optimize the building framing in MBS and then seamlessly transfer the project to Tekla Structures, using the 3D model to
finalize detailing for fabrication. MBS generates engineered and detailed output in minutes. Further, Trimble Connect can be used to control the project in a
centralized manner and have various stakeholders remain connected to the up-to-date information through fabrication to the site. Trimble Buildings, a part
of Trimble's Engineering and Construction segment, is focused on solutions that optimize the complete Design-Build-Operate (DBO) lifecycle of buildings.
Trimble is dedicated to transforming the industry—increasing productivity, reducing waste and optimizing schedules, budgets and real estate
portfolios—with powerful solutions that streamline communication and collaboration. These targeted solutions enable architects, engineers, contractors,
owners, and occupiers to realize greater agility, efficiency and insight. Used in over 150 countries around the world, Trimble Buildings’ solutions are
transforming the way the world designs, builds and operates infrastructure and buildings.

COPA-DATA CEE/ME: new subsidiary in Saudi Arabia
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

In the fast-growing markets of the Middle East, COPA-DATA’s zenon software platform has become firmly established as the standard software for digitalization and
automation in the energy and utility sectors. To strengthen market coverage in the region, COPA-DATA CEE/ME, the sales organization in charge of Central and Eastern
Europe and the Middle East, recently established a permanent branch office in Saudi Arabia. Companies on all continents use the zenon software platform from
Salzburg-based Austrian manufacturer COPA-DATA to digitalize and automate machines and plant for discrete and process production as well as power generation and
energy distribution. In Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, COPA-DATA CEE/ME takes care of sales and customer support. Now, the sales organization has
established a direct subsidiary, COPA-DATA Saudi Arabia, to better serve the fast-growing Arabian market. Entering the Arabic market was eased when Saudi Aramco
certified zenon. The Saudi Arabian energy corporation valued the elevated reliability ensured by zenon multi-redundancy. The software platform from COPA-DATA, an
independent manufacturer which isn’t incorporated, also helped to make software operation and maintenance independent of original hardware manufacturers. Among
the numerous plants Saudi Aramco has equipped with zenon is a Saudi Arabian oil field with 30 substations. In 2019, zenon was the first and only independent software
platform to get approval from the power grid operator Saudi National Grid. Potential continues to be high in automating further substations and in decarbonization of
energy supply, for which the region increasingly relies on solar power. Aside of the energy sector, the software platform is also firmly established in the Kingdom in
mining and desalination applications.

Costs to EBIT are also stable (€68.3m in H1FY20 compared to €68.7m in H1FY19). Cash position • The Group's cash position increased to €24.7m at June 30, 2020 (vs. €16.3m end June 2019). • Gross financial debt is €39.6m (vs. €49.6m as of December 2019) and net debt decreased to €14.9m (vs. €29.4m) related to business seasonality. The gearing ratio (net debt to equity) is 15.6% (vs. 34.4%). • As of June 30, 2020, ESI Group held 6.3% of its capital in treasury shares. • ESI Group requested a State-guaranteed loan (PGE) from its French banking pool and Bpifrance. At the date of the Board of Directors, the PGE granted by Bpifrance has been received (€1.75m) and the agreements of all the banks in the pool have been obtained for a syndicated PGE of €12m - the contract is currently being drawn up. Recurrence and resilience in an exceptional context • ESI Group's sales for the first half of 2020 amounted to €80.8m, down 8.5% (at current rates) from the same period last year. As the entire world entered confinement in Q2, revenue contracted €4m (-13.2%), about the same absolute value as in Q1 over a smaller revenue. Geographic and sector footprint unchanged • The geographical breakdown of half-year revenues is almost identical to that of the first half of 2019: the EMEA region represents 51.6% (vs. 52.7%) of total revenues, Asia represents 34.1% (vs. 33.2%) and the Americas represent 14.3% (vs. 14.1%). The EMEA region decreased the most during the half-year, followed by Asia and the Americas. • The Group's four priority industries - Automotive & Ground Transportation, Aeronautics & Aerospace, Heavy Industry, Energy - accounted for approximately 87% of total orders during the period. The Automotive and Ground Transportation activity, the group's leading industry, remained relatively stable despite a difficult sector context. The other priority industries suffered more from the current crisis, with a significant slowdown in orders in the Aerospace industry. Executive Commentary “In H1, while we experienced a sudden decrease in our customers ability to open new projects, the solidity of our multi-year, mission critical engagements with diversified industry leaders sustained us. As we continue to manage this global pandemic, we are balancing two business imperatives: proactive cost management to optimize near-term financial health and continuation of our transformation plan. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Spexor from Bosch provides security to go For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 6 Solution Description According to current crime statistics, people in Germany report around 240 domestic burglaries and almost 600 thefts from vehicles every day (source: Polizeiliche Kriminalstatistik 2019). Especially when it comes to areas that are difficult to secure and monitor, such as attics, laundry rooms, garages, and community gardens, or even caravans and vintage cars, the only security solutions available are often intended exclusively for individual use cases. With Spexor, Bosch has developed a mobile alarm device that people can use flexibly in almost any location and for a wide range of applications. Its powerful battery means the device remains active for several weeks, while software updates ensure it is always up to date. Spexor is the size of a coffee cup and houses several sensors that detect motion, sound, and changes to air pressure in a radius of approximately five meters around the device. “What sets Bosch’s compact security guard apart are the high precision and intelligent combination of its sensors, enabling Spexor to reliably detect break-ins,” says co-developer Riedel. If, for instance, the device is placed in garden shed and a football bounces against the window, the sound and pressure sensors detect the change. However, this alone does not set off the alarm. Only when Spexor detects movement inside the shed does the sensitive security device trigger the alarm and send a warning to the user’s smartphone. Depending on the individual settings, the device also sounds an alarm and the built-in LEDs flash red as a direct deterrent to burglars. Not only is Bosch’s mobile, multi-sensor alarm device suitable for use at home; thanks to its rechargeable battery, it can be placed almost anywhere that security is important. A Wi-Fi connection or cellular network is all Spexor needs to do its job when a break-in occurs. With a battery life of several weeks, this little security guard is an ideal partner for tasks like protecting motorhomes when parked or looking after expensive equipment, tools, or winter tires stored in a garden shed. Another factor that means Spexor can be used almost anywhere is that it can be operated and stored at ambient temperatures of –10 to +60 degrees Celsius. Data privacy was also a top priority in the development of the alarm device: Spexor has no camera and does not analyze or store any voice data. And when it is turned off, it really is off.

Built in collaboration with Humber River Hospital in Toronto, using GE Healthcare’s Edison platform, the AI algorithms help to reduce the turn-around time it can take for radiologists to review a suspected pneumothorax, a type of collapsed lung. Currently, 62 percent of exams are marked ‘STAT’ or for urgent reading[1], but they aren’t all critical. A prioritized “STAT” X-ray can sit waiting for up to eight hours for a radiologist’s review[1]. However, when a patient is scanned on a device with Critical Care Suite, the system automatically analyzes the images, searching for a pneumothorax. If a pneumothorax is suspected, an alert – along with the original chest X-ray – is sent directly to the radiologist for review via picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). The bedside care team also receives an on-device notification to provide awareness of the prioritized cases. Quality-focused AI algorithms simultaneously analyze and flag protocol and field of view errors as well as auto rotate the images on-device to save technologists time and simplify workflow. To further assist technologists and radiologists, Critical Care Suite also includes an: • On-Device Pneumothorax Alert which is flagged as soon as the X-ray image is acquired, if a pneumothorax is detected; • AI Score from 0 to 100 in which the higher the score, the more confident the algorithm is that a pneumothorax is detected; • Image Overlay that can be seen on-device (as well as on the Secondary Capture image sent to PACS) and has accurately localized 96% of positive pneumothorax findings; and • Customization of preferences which allows users to set an AI operating point (five setting options) in order to tune the performance of the system to preferred sensitivity or specificity.

Honeywell is solving those problems by fully integrating aircraft record generation into its digital blockchain ledger. This provides Honeywell's customers with an easy way to search and retrieve scattered data through a simple user interface, creating a level of speed and efficiency never before available in the aerospace industry. Quick and easy access to this data is critical for airlines because most use dozens of repair facilities, and the paperwork from each is not integrated. Additionally, airlines and operators commonly deal with lost, printed paperwork associated with a part. This paperwork, or "trace documents," are critical to maintaining the value of a part's worth. Honeywell's blockchain is a secure, decentralized database crowd-sourced by all its authorized users. Each user that Honeywell allows has a copy of the database and knows its contents in real time. Instead of storing only PDF documents or a reference to the digital aircraft record, Honeywell now stores the actual form data "on chain." This data is used to re-construct aircraft records, including records that prove the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has certified that aircraft parts are safe to fly. These records can be accessed by customers, and in the case where paperwork is missing, customers can simply input the part number and serial number and the user interface will retrieve the data from the blockchain and "rebuild" the missing document.

Customer Success Updates ITShades Engage & Enable Kongsberg Maritime And Massterly To Equip And Operate Two Zero-Emission Autonomous Vessels For Asko For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 40 Kongsberg Maritime and Massterly (a Kongsberg Wilhelmsen joint venture) have signed contracts with the leading Norwegian grocery distributor ASKO to equip two new vessels with autonomous technology, and to manage their operations at sea. With Norwegian companies delivering around 60% of the investment, this is a major milestone for the growth of sustainable maritime operations in Norway. The fully electric ships will replace 2 million kilometres of truck transport, saving 5,000 tonnes of CO2 every year. ASKO – currently transporting their cargo by more than 800 trucks daily – is committed to sustainability and is investing heavily in new technologies such as electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles. At present, road transport is the single mode of transportation to link their warehouses on the western side of the Oslo fjord with their distribution centre on the eastern side. The new RORO (Roll on, Roll off) vessels will replace the current solution with a zero emission transport alternative. ENOVA has supported the project – including the required port infrastructure – with 119 MNOK, in line with the Norwegian society's commitment to reduce emissions and transfer transport from road to sea where feasible. Kongsberg Maritime has a proven track record as an enabler for sustainable maritime logistics, and this ability has been further strengthened through the partnership with Wilhelmsen. The vessels will be equipped with the technology required for zero emission and unmanned operation by Kongsberg Maritime, while Massterly will ensure ship management and safe operations from their shore-based Remote Operations Centre. The two vessels will initially operate with a reduced crew, before moving towards unmanned voyages. Description

Customer Success Updates ITShades Engage & Enable Rassini Automotive Switches to Rimini Street Support for its SAPApplications For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 42 Rimini Street, Inc., a global provider of enterprise software products and services, the leading third-party support provider for Oracle and SAP software products and a Salesforce partner, announced that Rassini NHK Automotive (RNA), a leading automotive parts and accessories manufacturer in Brazil, has switched to Rimini Street Support for its SAP ECC 6.0 applications. RNA plans to redirect the savings generated by migrating to Rimini Street Support for business expansion and future innovation initiatives, including improving production management with Internet of Things (IoT) technology, deploying industry 4.0 predictive maintenance in its manufacturing equipment, automating manual processes, and enhancing the company’s project management capabilities. RNA, a Japanese-Mexican automotive group, is a leading provider of automotive parts and accessories across the region. The company’s products are distributed nationally, covering passenger and light commercial vehicles equipped with coil springs, as well as pickups, trucks and buses equipped with spring bundles. With a downturn in the automotive industry in Brazil, the company embarked on a widespread cost optimization initiative across the business, asking its department leaders to identify and reduce fixed costs that were deemed unnecessary or non-critical to the company’s growth and survival. In addition, the company is challenged with continuous innovation in a competitive market, which requires significant investment in engineering and new technologies. RNA’s IT department had already been operating with a lean structure internally, but as it carried out its cost optimization due diligence, the support and maintenance costs for their SAP system were immediately flagged. In addition, RNA’s CIO noted that the support provided by the vendor was not only expensive, with no new perceived innovation or enhancements in the product releases to justify the high costs, but the vendor’s support was unsatisfactory as well. All of these reasons led RNA to explore third-party support as an option, and ultimately the company chose Rimini Street Support. Description

Customer Success Updates ITShades Engage & Enable FP Corporation Switches to Rimini Street Support for its SAPApplications For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 43 Rimini Street, Inc., a global provider of enterprise software products and services, the leading third-party support provider for Oracle and SAP software products and a Salesforce partner, announced that FP Corporation (FPCO), the largest maker of plastic food containers and related packaging materials in Japan, has switched to Rimini Street Support for the company’s SAP ECC 6.0 applications. By switching to Rimini Street, FPCO reduced the cost of its annual software support fees by 50% and deferred a costly migration to S/4HANA while the company evaluates options over time for its next-generation ERP platform. Under Rimini Street third-party support, FPCO can run its existing SAP applications for at least 15 years from the time that it switched support providers, with no required upgrades or migrations. Established in 1962, FPCO focuses on utilizing technology to maintain its leadership position in the manufacturing and marketing of disposable food containers in Japan. In 2015, the company was recognized as a “Competitive IT Strategy Company” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange for successfully implementing a supply chain infrastructure network across Japan, with supply chain management enterprise software at its core. The strategy was implemented to organically connect and advance FPCO’s development capabilities, purchasing power, manufacturing capacity, distribution, recycling and information networks to ultimately improve its customer service levels. As part of this strategy, FPCO relies heavily on its stable and mature SAP platform, which has been highly customized with many add-ons to meet its unique operational and business needs. After SAP raised its annual maintenance fees, FPCO reassessed the value of SAP support fees and realized it could no longer justify the costs to remain supported by the vendor. FPCO then evaluated third-party support to optimize costs and maximize the ROI for its SAP environment. Description

By switching to Rimini Street Support, Vedacit was able to free up significant IT budget to drive innovation projects and support its corporate initiative to double revenue by 2023. Specifically, Vedacit leveraged its savings to help fund five product development startups through Vedacit Labs, the company’s innovation incubator that accelerates startups and pioneers ideas for the civil construction industry. Founded in 1936, Vedacit manufactures construction products – such as waterproofing additives for concrete and mortar, adhesives, and asphalt paints – in its São Paulo and Salvador production centers in Brazil, and distributes its products across the country and Latin America. The company’s CIO, Alexandre Quinze, was tasked with revamping the IT department when he took office in 2018. Like many companies, Quinze discovered that Vedacit was spending approximately 80% of its IT budget on ongoing operations and enhancements, leaving just 20% for business transformation initiatives, including investments in new technologies and innovations that support competitive advantage and revenue growth. Under Quinze’s leadership, the organization was able to right-size this budget equation, and the proportion of the budget is closer to 60% for IT maintenance, with 40% left over to invest in innovation. Partner Ecosystem Updates ITShades Engage & Enable Strategic partnership: Bosch and SAP aim to simplify corporate processes with a new standard For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 47 Bosch and SAP have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at simplifying digital corporate processes. The partners’ objective is to further develop a digital industrial standard that governs, for example, the exchange and usage of company data along the value chain. This would harmonize and further automate processes, both within and between companies – thus achieving substantial efficiency gains. Given the strength of both companies’ networks across different sectors, the whole economy stands to gain from their collaboration. The partnership holds special promise for the manufacturing industry, and offers a particular benefit for the global automotive industry, with its highly interwoven supply chains and numerous production locations that are often still managed individually. At the core of this collaboration is the transfer of Bosch business processes into SAP S/4HANA, SAP’s software suite for enterprise resource planning (ERP). The suite is used in the planning, management, and administration of resources for a range of processes, including order entry, production, delivery, and invoicing. “Due to its industrial expertise and technology leadership in several fields, Bosch plays a key role in global supply and value chains. Together we are pursuing the goal of translating this expertise into digital form, using SAP S/4HANA as a basis. In doing so, we hope to define a uniform industry standard that will open up the advantages of the digital transformation to other industry players as well,” says The CEO of SAP SE. Process, technology, and development experts from both companies are working closely together as they focus all their efforts on driving internal digitalization forward at Bosch. For example, the rollout and transformation with SAP S/4HANA is intended to cut the number of ERP systems in half. In Bosch Mobility Solutions alone, the productive systems are to be reduced to just one. This will facilitate a considerable increase in the options for real-time analysis and control optimization. With its in-depth expertise in multiple business fields and processes, Bosch will help shape the further development of SAP S/4HANA – to its own benefit but also to the benefit of SAP’s large customer base. SAP will play a crucial role in the integration as partner and advisor, thanks to its multifaceted experience and market leadership in managing ERP systems. The goal of standardizing and automating processes is to significantly simplify the global system landscape, continuously optimize workflows, and increase confidence still further in dealing with real-time analysis. There is considerable potential for optimizing the exchange of requirements, planning, and needs, especially at the interfaces to suppliers and to customers. For the first time, the latest technologies make this possible in real-time across the entire value chain and involving all parties. This leads to a permanent improvement in competitiveness and agility, from the corporate management level all the way to production. Description

Partner Ecosystem Updates ITShades Engage & Enable Bosch and Weichai Power increase efficiency of Weichai truck diesel engines to 50 percent For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 48 Bosch and the Chinese engine manufacturer Weichai Power have made a huge leap forward in engine technology. The two partners have successfully increased the efficiency of Weichai diesel engine for heavy commercial vehicles up to 50 percent, thus setting a new global benchmark. Currently, thermal efficiency for truck engines averages around 46 percent. “In increasing the efficiency by four percentage points, we have jointly reached a new milestone. Even though the diesel engine is nearly 130 years old, its development continues,” said Chairman of the board of management of GmbH. In addition to its common-rail system with injection pressure of 2,500 bar, Bosch also contributed its full technical know-how in fuel injection systems. Particularly when it comes to commercial vehicles, and above all when heavy loads have to be transported over long distances, the diesel engine will remain the preferred choice for the foreseeable future. For this reason, Bosch and Weichai aim to steadily refine this technology with an eye to protecting the climate and environment. Bosch and Weichai, China’s largest manufacturer of engines for commercial vehicles, have enjoyed many years of partnership. Their strategic alliance began back in 2003. Over the 17 years since, both companies have pooled their strengths and expertise in multiple endeavors, one of which was supplying the Chinese market with powerful, energy-efficient, and eco-friendly diesel engines. Furthermore, Bosch and Weichai collaborate in several other areas, including the mobile fuel cell and driver assistance systems. They are united by a common objective: making commercial vehicles even cleaner, safer, and more intelligent. Bosch and Weichai’s close partnership also extends beyond vehicle technology – to Industry 4.0, for example, and in turn, the connectivity and digitalization of factories. Description

Miscellaneous Updates IT Shades Engage& Enable COPA-DATA CEE/ME: new subsidiary in Saudi Arabia For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 54 In the fast-growing markets of the Middle East, COPA-DATA’s zenon software platform has become firmly established as the standard software for digitalization and automation in the energy and utility sectors. To strengthen market coverage in the region, COPA-DATA CEE/ME, the sales organization in charge of Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, recently established a permanent branch office in Saudi Arabia. Companies on all continents use the zenon software platform from Salzburg-based Austrian manufacturer COPA-DATA to digitalize and automate machines and plant for discrete and process production as well as power generation and energy distribution. In Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, COPA-DATA CEE/ME takes care of sales and customer support. Now, the sales organization has established a direct subsidiary, COPA-DATA Saudi Arabia, to better serve the fast-growing Arabian market. Entering the Arabic market was eased when Saudi Aramco certified zenon. The Saudi Arabian energy corporation valued the elevated reliability ensured by zenon multi-redundancy. The software platform from COPA-DATA, an independent manufacturer which isn’t incorporated, also helped to make software operation and maintenance independent of original hardware manufacturers. Among the numerous plants Saudi Aramco has equipped with zenon is a Saudi Arabian oil field with 30 substations. In 2019, zenon was the first and only independent software platform to get approval from the power grid operator Saudi National Grid. Potential continues to be high in automating further substations and in decarbonization of energy supply, for which the region increasingly relies on solar power. Aside of the energy sector, the software platform is also firmly established in the Kingdom in mining and desalination applications. Description
