9. We use 12’, 14’ & 16’ Pro series. Hyside has always been open to
work with our special requests and design changes. It has been
an honor to have such a vendor relationship. The newer, lighter
rafts use the same awesome, durable fabric but Hyside has
taken the unnecessary weight out of each raft: eg. Rubstrake,
grommets, neo wear patches, etc. The durability is the same but
now they handle even better. The competition is scrambling to
follow Hyside.

The Hyside raft is the most durable and maintenance free raft
we have used and we have tried every brand. We have a fleet of
more than 250 craft. This year we are finally retiring rafts that

10. BOMB-PROOF IS CLOSER TO THE TRUTH THAN YOU MIGHT THINK...
Produced in-house, our Tank Tough base fabric got its start during the Korean War (1950s), used to build pontoons for
bridges and tank carriers, where failure was not an option. The test of time has shown that with these same indestructible
properties, HYSIDEs thrive in the harshest of conditions. Typically only produced from Pre-season orders, models in this
series are all very specific to the needs of the Outfitter operating them.
The PRO series is a cumulation of the most popular, custom outfitter models over the years. Specific needs require specific
technology to get the job done right. If you’re looking for boats in this category, we typically sit down with a CAD drawing
and map out dimensions as well as the location of D-rings and extra urethane in heavy-wear areas. In addition, we now
offer the option of Kevlar as a lightweight armor under the urethane coating.

HOW DOES IT COMPARE
TO HYPALON?
I run big water, so performance and safety matter. We
have been very satisfied with the Mini Max, but after trying
the Neo version, we’re sold on the slightly grippier material
that helps secure the paddlers. It’s reassuring that Hyside
has re-introduced a material that has always been a military
staple. It won’t be long before our fleet is all Neo.
DOES IT GET HOT?
When we first started using the boat a lot of comments were made
about the black color and how it would be so hot. Those commenting
had clearly never paddled the NEO. If it did get hot on the water we
never noticed, as we were laughing too much to care. When drying
the boat out in the sun afterwards, however, the black did help warm
us back up for a second run.

The first inflatable rafts built by the military were constructed of Neoprene
and they’re still using the same material today. Our factory still builds tank
pontoons and pontoon bridges out of this same material.
Hypalon and Neoprene are both synthetic rubber materials and the NEO LINE
boasts the same exact design, construction, urethane bottom chafers and
durability you’ve come to expect from HYSIDE. Manufacturing our Neoprene fab-
ric is less involved without Hypalon’s color pigment process, so we’re able to pass
that cost savings onto you at a price 15% LESS than our Hypalon models.
We can build any of our standard models for you during Pre-Season (orders
taken September-December for Spring/Summer delivery) and we stock the
Mini-me, Mini-Max and PaddleCat in limited availability during the season.
