This document summarizes a feasibility study conducted by PG&E to investigate installing a wave energy pilot project off the coast of Humboldt County, California. The proposed project would have included installing up to 4 arrays with a maximum of 30 wave energy generators 3 nautical miles offshore in 45 meters of water. The project was suspended due to the newness of the wave energy technology, uncertainty around environmental and regulatory issues, potential conflicts with existing ocean uses, and high projected costs.
