details of your court cases

2. E-Courts Website
• The E-Courts website https://ecourts.gov.in is a useful resource that
contains information related to case status, announcements about
judges in different courts in India.
• In this presentation we show how to use the E-courts website to find
details of ongoing court cases in India
3. Step 1: open the E-Courts URL
https://ecourts.gov.in
4. Step 2: Go to the specific court where the
case is filed
• From the E-courts website, use
the top menu to go to the
supreme court, high courts or
district courts, and to the specific
court where your case is filed
• Another way is to directly
search for the court name +
ecourts in the google search
engine.
• For example, while searching
for the district court in
Dehradun, type Ecourts
Dehradun in google to get the
link.
5. Step 3: Click on the case status link on the
right side of the court webpage where your
case is filed
6. Step 4: Click on the option to search for
your case: by case number or party name
etc
7. Step 5: Fill the details to search for your
case
• Fill the details for your case such
as
• Petitioner or respondent name
• Year.
• The court complex where your
case is running (A court in
Dehradun may have more than
one court complex)
• Make sure you have the right
information to fill the details.
• If it cannot find the case
record, it will give record not
found error
8. Step 5: Fill the details to search for your
case
• Fill the details for your case such
as
• Petitioner or respondent name
• Year.
• The court complex where your
case is running (A court in
Dehradun may have more than
one court complex)
• If matching records are found,
it will give the links to the court
cases matching the criteria.
• Click on the link that is for your
case
9. Step 6: View the details for your case
• After clicking the link for your
case, one can see the details
including
• Filing number and date, CNR
number etc
• past and next dates
• business on the dates
• judgments that were given on
each date
