Let’s get started!

Open your browser

Type
www.hootsuite.com
/plans/free

Click on Get
Started-Free

1st Step in Signing
in: Create your
account

Type in the required
details:
Your e-mail address

Full Name

Password

Then click here to
select your location

Hit Create Account
when done

2nd Step:
Click the social
networks you want
to add

After clicking on
the social network,
supply the required
information

Authorize Hootsuite
to use your account

Enter your
Username

Password

Then hit Authorize
App when done

What does this app
do?

To add your
Facebook account

Simply enter in your
Username and
Password

Click the Edit the
info you provide to
select which details
you will share

and hit okay to
finish adding your
Facebook account

Select which
functions you allow
Hootsuite to
perform

in your Facebook
account by clicking
Choose what you
allow

Just click x to
continue

and hit Continue
button to proceed to
step three

3rd Step:
Start Using
Hootsuite

Click Done Adding
Social Networks to
begin using
Hootsuite

This is your
Hootsuite Free
dashboard

On the left side is
your navigation
panel

The tools
contained here
will help your
dashboard up
and running

Setting up TABS
AND STREAMS

Tabs are like folders
in your computer

They help separate
and categorize your
business and
personal social

networks and apps
into unique spaces
for easier viewing

Streams help
further breakdown
each tab according
to social networks,

apps, functionality,
keyword searches,
etc.

To add a tab to your
dashboard:
- From the launch
menu on the left

Select the House or
Streams icon

Click the (+)sign to
add a tab

A new tab will
appear with
“untitled”
highlighted.

Label your tab

To add a stream,
click Add a Stream
button

Select which social
media account,

Select Profile- click
on the dropdown
menu

Then click the type
of stream you desire

Or instantly add
Stream by hovering
the cursor to the
options

and clicking it

You can also add
stream by the search
category

Just type in your
Search Query

and hit add stream
when done

And there you go
the laughter stream
is added to the
Laughter tab

You can do the same
thing with
keyword and list
category

Compose and
Schedule a Message

From your
dashboard, point
your cursor to the
profile picker box

and select which
account the message
will go

To adjust the stream
width, use the
handy toggle bar

It is found in the far
right corner of your
tab

Slide the toggle back
and forth to adjust
stream widths.

Compose and
Schedule a Message

Remember that you
can send to multiple
accounts or just one

When composing
message, notice the
character limit

on the lower
portion of the box

Limit your message
until the number
indicated

If you are sharing a
link, paste the link
on the link box

and click shrink to
save some character
space

The URL is now
shortened and
added to your
message

To add an image or
file, simply click the
paper clip icon

and hit Select Files
to Upload to start
uploading your files

Choose your
preferred photo

then hit open to
upload your
selection

If your message is
complete and ready
to be sent, click
Send Now

to send it right away

or schedule it for a
future post by
clicking the
calendar icon

Then select the date
you want to send
the post/message

Select the time as
well by clicking the
dropdown menu

Don’t forget to
choose am or pm

Then hit schedule
when done

Autoscheduling your
message

From the message
box, click the cog
icon

This is your
autoshedule box

Customize how
often a post will
be sent in a day

by clicking here

and choose the time
bracket

days you want the
message to be
scheduled on

Finally, hit Save
Settings when done
