We should diligently study the Bible to show ourselves approved unto God. The document provides tips for effective Bible study, including having an attitude of readiness, balancing different parts of scripture, obeying commandments, being diligent, learning from examples, having faith, getting to know God, asking for help, understanding implications, focusing on Jesus, gaining knowledge, developing a love for the truth, pursuing maturity, gaining nourishment, obeying God, having patience, asking questions, reviewing lessons, studying in-depth, tracking promises and prophecies, discerning underlying principles, considering different Bible versions carefully, studying words, using systematic reading, self-examining, having zeal, and finding salvation through Christ.
This document provides guidance on how to study the Bible through simple principles and rules of interpretation. It encourages taking notes, asking questions, visualizing the text, reflecting on what is read, and researching unclear parts. Key rules of interpretation discussed are:
- Comparing scripture with scripture to bring clarity without contradiction
- Obscure passages being interpreted in light of plain ones
- Considering the original terminology and meaning at the time rather than present-day definitions
- Understanding words in their context and with awareness of the historical background
The overall message is that properly interpreting Scripture requires humility, loyalty to the original meaning, and applying basic hermeneutical principles to arrive at an accurate understanding.
This document discusses the difference between facts and fables, and provides guidance on how to study the Bible to discern what is true. It explains that a fact is something that is absolutely true, while a fable is a fictional story meant to teach a moral lesson. It then gives several tips for Bible study, such as comparing different Bible translations, using reference books to find related passages, studying words in their original Hebrew and Greek, and making notes in a journal. The overall message is that careful, diligent study of the Bible is important to correctly understand God's word.
The document discusses the authority, characteristics, and necessity of Scripture. Some key points:
1. The Bible claims authority as the Word of God, and its words have power to change lives. Disbelieving or disobeying Scripture is equivalent to disobeying God.
2. All words in the original manuscripts of Scripture are completely true without error. God cannot lie, so His words in the Bible are the ultimate standard of truth.
3. While the Bible is sufficient on its own, teachers and scholars can help with interpretation, defending the Bible from attacks, and applying it to new situations. However, their works should always point back to Jesus and Scripture.
The document discusses how the Bible can become an idol if not properly understood and applied. It tells the story of a man named John who became depressed after losing his job and spending too much time researching the Bible online, where he encountered wrong teachings that led him to doubt the Bible's authority. As a result, his faith was overwhelmed by unbelief and his spiritual walk was damaged. Therefore, it is important to have a healthy understanding of the Bible as God's revelation and to attend a church community to avoid biblical isolation or fixation that could enable demonic deception.
The document discusses principles of studying the Bible. It notes that the Bible was written over 1500 years by over 40 authors from various backgrounds, yet maintains a unified message. It was written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek on 3 continents. The Bible is divided into the Old and New Testaments. It is the authoritative word of God as it is inspired, infallible, and inerrant. Proper interpretation involves understanding what the author intended rather than individual reader interpretation.
This document provides an overview of understanding the Bible. It discusses that God's word continues to speak relevant truths to people. The class will provide foundational information for interpreting and applying Scripture accurately. It defines key terms related to inspiration, transmission, and interpretation of the Bible. The document examines different theories of inspiration and affirms the Bible as the inspired word of God conveyed through human authors.

For the purpose of this study, I have assimilated some facts on the history of the evolution of scripture, which is the basis of our FAITH as CHRISTIANS. Let me state up front, as a whole, and after much study of these different writings, in my opinion, the substance of it all comes down to the fact, that the original canonical writings of the 66 books written in Hebrew and Greek translated by King James (The KJV of the Holy Bible) is sufficient in keeping the faith. In a more global since, historically these other writings have their place in providing a perspective of mans quest and experiences in seeking God. As evidenced, there are examples of the church, not restricted to the Catholic Church, manipulating Gods word for selfish interest, and in many instances attempting to confuse the faith and keeping the truth unavailable to the masses.

The document discusses the Bible and its inspiration. It makes these key points:
1) The Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
2) While authors used their own writing styles, the Holy Spirit ensured every word was approved and the thoughts, phrases, and words were all inspired by God.
3) Christians believe the Bible is perfect, inerrant, and the final authority for faith and practice, containing guidance for all aspects of life. It will also be used for judgment at the end of time.
There are two main approaches to translating the Bible: formal equivalence and dynamic equivalence. Formal equivalence aims to render the text as literally as possible, even if it requires more study to understand. Dynamic equivalence prioritizes readability over literalness, potentially changing parts that seem difficult to understand or adding the translator's interpretation. Most modern translations use dynamic equivalence, while the King James Version uses formal equivalence. The choice of translation approach can impact whether readers feel they are getting the original meaning from God or an interpretation filtered through the translator.
The document discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in relation to scripture. It makes three key points:
1) The Holy Spirit was the driving force behind the creation of the Bible. He revealed truths to authors and inspired them to communicate God's message.
2) The Holy Spirit continues to teach people about God and guide them into spiritual truths, but only those that are consistent with what is written in scripture.
3) Scripture is completely truthful because God authored it through the Holy Spirit. While individual authors expressed truths in their own style and context, the overall message is divinely inspired and cannot contradict itself.
The document discusses the importance of reading and studying the Bible. It claims that all Scripture is from God and useful for teaching and righteousness. It provides biblical quotes indicating that prophecy comes from God through the Holy Spirit, not from human interpretation. Some do not believe in the Bible and burn it, while others in the church do not value it. It encourages the reader to read the Bible to improve their life and leaves contact information to learn more.
This document provides an overview and analysis of 2 Timothy 3:14-17 and 4:1-5. It discusses the importance of Scripture according to these passages. The document examines how Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training. It also provides tips for studying the Bible, emphasizing interpreting Scripture literally and in its proper historical context. The document notes corresponding truths between 2 Timothy 3:16 and John 3:16 about the dual gifts of Scripture and salvation through Jesus Christ.
The document discusses how Timothy endured persecutions for living a godly life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. It encourages Timothy to continue learning from the Scriptures, which can make people wise for salvation through faith. The Bible stands up to intense examination and contains historically accurate information. Its teachings promote values that some find culturally obsolete but examining evidence shows that faith in the Bible is reasonable. The document suggests evaluating whether one truly trusts the Bible and determining to align one's life with its teachings.

This document provides an overview of biblical inspiration and revelation. It discusses key passages that address these topics, such as 2 Peter 1:20-21 and 2 Timothy 3:16. The Bible testifies to itself as the word of God. While written through human authors, the Holy Spirit ensured the final text is infallible and without error. The mode of inspiration is mysterious but resulted in an authoritative text that is the final rule for faith and practice.

This document is a 3-part homily given by Domenic Marbaniang in 1998 on the topic of "The Just Shall Live by Faith" based on Romans 1:17. The summary focuses on the key points:
1) Part I discusses how the life of the just begins by faith - through God's unmerited grace and man's response of faith which results in justification and eternal life.
2) Part II examines the continuity of life by faith as an ongoing process of perception, protection, and progression through continually relating to God empirically, cognitively and meaningfully via scripture and submitting to His will.
3) Part III addresses the consummation of life by faith
Our Personal Commitment to Jesus demands that we desire to know Him more and more clearly and accurately. Such a relationship of intimacy should be cultivated and pressed onto through enlightenment of the eyes of our understanding. Our passion and zeal for knowing Him should be guided through light in order not to fall in the trap of false intimacy but know Him accurately the way He wants to be known.
This document discusses how Christians have lost connection with God's appointed feast days and cycle of blessings outlined in the Old Testament. It argues that Satan has stolen this understanding by persuading Christians that the Old Testament is inferior or irrelevant. However, the New Testament valued the Old Testament and early Christians based their teachings and practices on it for decades before the New Testament was written. Reconnecting with the Old Testament feasts and cycle can help restore blessings intended by God.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
