Learning a new sport can be exhilarating, especially if it
involves going outdoors. They give you the opportunity to
travel, to step out of your comfort zone, and feel the thrill
of the moment. One such sport is kayaking. Of course one
shouldn’t head for the rapids first, but rather start with
more peaceful waters.

Kayaking is an activity that challenges you more and more
the farther you go. If you want to take up kayaking for the
summer, here are some hot safety tips you need to know.
The most important lesson anyone needs to learn first is
how to get back into the kayak after falling off. Re-entering
your kayak can be tricky so practice doing this on land first.
Before you get into the water, make sure you have a life
jacket on. It doesn’t matter if you’re already used to
kayaking – never go without your life jacket. If you feel like
the life jacket is too bulky or too uncomfortable, shop
around for a model that fits your body properly.
Lastly, be conscious of the location you chose to kayak. As I
mentioned earlier, if you’re just starting out, the best place
for you is one that has very few motorized boats, calm
waters, and is protected from waves and the wind.
Preferably look for a place that has good launching and
landing spots.
