This lesson discusses the place value of the number 1000 using base ten blocks. It asks how many flats, hundreds, tens, and ones make up 1000. The lesson then asks students to determine if examples such as stars in the sky or names in the world contain more or fewer than 1000. Finally, it asks students if 1000 is a big or small number and directs them to practice problems in their workbook.
