Unit 3 style question - Waterford/Wedgwood plcmattbentley34
Waterford Wedgwood, maker of Waterford crystal and Wedgwood china, has struggled financially in recent years due to declining formal dining trends. To cut costs and save the company, it has moved most ceramics production to Indonesia and plans to move all crystal manufacturing there as well. This will cut manufacturing costs in half and allow the company to be profitable again by 2009 or 2010. While production moves overseas, the products will still be branded as being made in England to comply with international trade law.
This document contains information about Memcon, a company that produces dome switches. It lists their office locations in Hong Kong, the UK, and USA. It then provides specifications for 20 different dome switch models, including their part numbers, force ratings, thickness, dimensions, and stable force values. It also mentions the switches are used in industries like membrane switches, automotive, consumer electronics, medical, and appliances.
Question 3 what have you learned from your audience feedbackEmilyDorsettBeard
The document discusses feedback received from the audience on a student's horror film project. The student conducted research on audience preferences through questionnaires and social media. They learned that the audience preferred psychological horror films with effective sound and makeup. Based on this feedback, the student improved their trailer, magazine cover, and poster by adjusting lighting, sounds, and using a consistent color scheme of red and white across all pieces. The feedback process helped the student understand their audience's expectations and create materials that were more appealing.
Question 2 how effective is the combination of your main product and ancillar...EmilyDorsettBeard
The document discusses the effectiveness of combining a film trailer with ancillary marketing materials like a magazine cover and poster. Color schemes, fonts, and imagery are kept consistent across materials to establish continuity and synergy between the products. Feedback from the target audience was generally positive, though some suggested improving audio levels and lengthening certain scenes in the trailer. Overall, the combination of materials was deemed effective as the consistent branding allowed audiences to associate the ancillary texts with the film.
Question 2 how effective is the combination of your main product and ancillar...EmilyDorsettBeard
The combination of the main product (trailer) and ancillary texts (magazine cover and poster) is effective due to the continuity established between them. The trailer, cover, and poster all use a consistent color scheme of red, white, blue, and black. They also feature the same logo and photograph to clearly link the products together. Feedback from the target audience was generally positive and also provided suggestions for improvement to strengthen the synergy between the products.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
