Paul Rand managed to perfectly capture the oppression of those
times by using mnemonic symbols such as the barbed wire and
red hole-punched circles to symbolise blood splatters in a way that
was new and different at that time.

Postmodernis

The term postmodern has been used in the
graphic design world since around the 1980s
and is used to describe an art movement that
contradicted the established forms of
modernism.

Modern designs make more sense when
seen in their actual social and political
backgrounds. Images were usually
symmetrical, structured and simplified.
MODERNISM
Post-Modernism was the exact opposite of
Modernism. It was more chaotic and stylized,
often with no meaning behind a design. Unlike
the structural modern designs, Post-Modernist
designs were all about style, creativity and how
something looks.
