- History. The company was initiated more than 85 years ago, by Henri Essers. From there, the “H” in our brand name H.Essers. Noël was one of the sons of Henri, and he still is the president of our Board. The 85 years stand for a rich tradition. It all started with one truck for animal transport. As from the 50’s, it went international. Until the 80’s, the main focus was transport. However, as from then, the company started to be active in warehousing as well. Our growth has been organic and by acquisition. - Italy: first own office outside Belgium - Centrum: dutch company with an important presence in Romania. As from than on, Romania became our second home country. - System Alliance Europe: a pan-european groupage network of +50 transport companies, of which HE was a co-founding partner - Danmark: new DC on demand of our customer Ecolab. As being a logistics partner in Belgium for a long time, Ecolab asked us to follow them and operate a Scandinavian DC for them - Bulgary & Turkey: symbolic for the eastern expansion of the company - Hessenatie Logistics: this acquisition contributed to the H.Essers strategy to develop advanced end to end logistics solutions. 20 mio euro turn-over. - KDL Trans: complementary for our high value business proposition, with specific added value services and technical courier solutions for IT hardware & other electronics - Vilnius: strategic location in view of transport solutions towards Russia. Neff: April, 2014. Danish family holding, 32.000 m², 24 staff. Expertise in logistics in pharma, bio-technology and food. Contributing to our Danmark expansian. Steelexpress: May, 2014. Belgian subsidiary of Arcelor Mittal, focusing on exceptional transport. 14 staff. Fleet of 83 units. Very complementary for Geertrans, our sister company, offering exceptional transport solutions for the infrastructure industry.
- Figures. The company is for 100% property of the family. Turn-over: yearly growth of 5 to 15 %. Organic & by acquisition. In 2014: 430 mio euro. Staff: today 4.181 people, of which 1.354 outside Belgium.
