7. Cetrea Clinical Logistics
▪ The Cetrea Clinical Logistics (CL) was developed
in 2003-2006 as an innovation project with a
minor hospital in Horsens in the south of our
region
▪ CL is now widely used in operation rooms in
hospitals all over Denmark
▪ In 2012 CL won the tender for clinical logistics in
Central Denmark Region

8. Cetrea CL as enterprice
▪ Solution is hosted by the Regions central IT
department
▪ Configuration is done centrally by the region (no
vendors)
▪ Configuration of the screens is standardized across
hospitals
▪ Patient flows across hospitals and hospital centers

Study 1: “Health Technology Assessment” (HTA) study
CETREA Surgical was evaluated in the period from January 2009 to December 2010,
i.e. 22 months
Macro-level Results
• 7% overall increase in production (DRG values) during the period of the study.
• 6% increased utilization of ORs (from 82% to 88%)
• 66% reduction in no. canceled operations
Return on Investment
• cost ~ 350.000 euro
• savings ~200.000 euro
• ROI in 1-2 year

Study 2: Qualitative Results from the OR staff questionnaire
• 70% of staff thinks information is easier available
• 76% thinks the technology provides a better overview
• 68% thinks the system makes it easier to coordinate work

Study 3: Data analysis of phone and step usage
• Phone calls was reduced by 39%
