patient well-being and recovery. This research provides foundational knowledge on the importance of
hospital architecture in healthcare delivery.
2. Joseph, A., & Ulrich, R. S. (2007). This study focuses on sound control in healthcare settings and its
influence on patient outcomes. By investigating the impact of noise reduction measures on patient
satisfaction and recovery, the authors highlight the significance of environmental factors in healthcare
facility design.

Rationale:
This study is important because it closes the crucial gap between the high caliber of medical care provided technically
and the influence that the physical characteristics of the hospital have on patients’ opinions. Medical results are
important, but a growing body of research indicates that a patient’s overall contentment with their healthcare
experience is a crucial sign of high-quality care.
Objective :
This study investigates the correlation between patient satisfaction and hospital design, aiming to identify the
components of hospital architecture that significantly influence patient contentment.
This study intends to give practical insights for healthcare stakeholders to enhance the physical environment, hence
enhancing overall patient satisfaction and well-being, by shedding light on the precise design components that
significantly influence patient perceptions and contentment.

- Explore models linking patient happiness to hospital design.
- Consider theoretical stances emphasizing patient-centred care and
environmental psychology.
• Architecture Elements:
- Key hospital elements influencing satisfaction: design, comfort,
environment, and accessibility.

- Standardized questionnaires cover communication, care quality, and facility
comfort, measuring patient satisfaction.
DATA COLLECTION &
METHODOLOGY
1. Research Design
This study utilized a quantitative research design, employing a survey
distributed among a diverse sample of population.
2. Data Collection
A structured questionnaire on Google forms was administered to students,
patients, etc to assess their perceptions of different aspects of hospital
design and their corresponding satisfaction levels.
3. Variables
Variables included in the survey encompassed physical environment
factors (e.g., layout, aesthetics), accessibility measures, amenities, and
patient-reported satisfaction scores.
4. Methodology
Factor analysis using SPSS was employed to identify underlying factors
and their relationships within the collected data.
FACTOR ANALYSIS ON SPSS
Factor analysis was utilized to explore the
underlying structure of variables related to
hospital design and patient satisfaction. This
statistical technique helps identify latent
variables (factors) that explain the observed
correlations among measured variables.

- Patients highly value inclusion and accessibility.
- Wide doorways, elevators, ramps, charging stations, and hygienic restrooms contribute to ease of movement.
- Significance: Demonstrates the importance of accommodating diverse needs in hospital design.

- Hospital design fosters communication and individual comfort.
- Access to outdoor spaces promotes tranquility and connection with nature.
- Well-designed waiting areas contribute to a holistic approach to recovery.
- Significance: Highlights the role of design in promoting overall well-being and aiding in the healing process.
3. F3: Therapeutic (9.99% Variance)
- Peaceful ambiance created by natural materials and artwork reduces anxiety.
- Emphasizes the therapeutic role of design in supporting mental health.
- Significance: Underlines the importance of creating a positive and uplifting atmosphere in healthcare
settings.

- Digital screens and kiosks, while useful, have room for improvement in integration.
- Calls for continuous improvement in technology use for a better overall patient experience.
