Health and wellbeing boards are new local bodies responsible for encouraging integrated working between health and social care. They include representatives from clinical commissioning groups, directors of public health, adult social care, children's services, and local Healthwatch. The boards assess local health needs, encourage cooperation between services, and produce a joint strategic plan for addressing health and wellbeing priorities in their area.
