The Haque Academy in Karachi, Pakistan hired an interior designer to design new classrooms for their Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 students. The school wanted each classroom to have a unique identity that was age-appropriate and appealing for young children. The design brief called for study areas, a library corner, pretend play space, and ample storage for teaching materials.

CATERS TO STUDENTS FROM KINDERGARTEN UP TO O-
LEVELS.THEIR EXISTING CLASSROOMS HAD SIMILAR
INTERIORS WITH NO DIFFERENTIATION BETWEEN AGE
GROUPS. THE SCHOOL REQUIRED DESIGN SERVICES FOR
THE KINDERGARTEN 1 AND KINDERGARTEN 2
CLASSROOMS WHICH WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE
AND APPEALING TO THE RESPECTIVE AGE GROUP. THEY
EMPHASIZED ON DIVERSITY AND REQUIRED EACH CLASS
TO TELL A STORY OF ITS OWN AND THEREFORE GIVING
EACH A UNIQUE IDENTITY. THE SPATIAL BRIEF WAS
SIMILAR FOR BOTH KINDERGARTEN CLASSES. THEY
REQUIRED THE CLASSROOM TO HAVE SPACES FOR
STUDY AREA, LIBRARY CORNER, PRETEND PLAY AND A
LOT OF STORAGE SPACE FOR TEACHING MATERIALS.
