This is a presentation i made for my add+vantage module on how to do business over the internet at university. I did some research and made notes to focus on a presentation about how web 2.0 has revolutionized web design.
Web 2.0 refers to second-generation Internet-based services that emphasize online collaboration and sharing among users. It is characterized by dynamic content that is generated by users and the ability for users to interact and share information online through social media sites, portals, and open communication platforms. Web 2.0 aims to facilitate creativity, information sharing, and mass collaboration among users. Popular examples of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, wikis, communication platforms, and user-generated media sites that allow users to interact and share content.
It is now easier than ever to add the content of any web page to your Facebook Page by making it a tab on this page.
Once you’ve created a website with xsMobi, you ALREADY HAVE a tab version of the content for your Facebook page!
This tutorial shows how website content can be integrated into Facebook. It takes only a few minutes.

What is web development and how it can benefit your business | SEO Exparte BD Ltd.
Consider all of the web applications you have used in the past week. You probably can't even keep track of how many websites you visited, including your favorite news site, Facebook, and shopping sites. The internet is probably the first site you turn to if you need to find gifts, reserve a hotel room, or make a doctor's appointment. Even when the actual purchase takes place in a store, 80% of significant transactions begin with online research. The fact that 1 in 4 small businesses still don't have a website or a web app is somewhat astonishing, then. Especially in light of the numerous advantages that web apps may provide for organizations.
A web app can help your company grow by positioning you as a reliable partner who values its clients. But how can you build a feature-rich web application that your users would adore? Web development services might be used in this situation if you lack the time or the necessary abilities to create one yourself.
What is Web Development?
The entire process of creating, developing, testing, and maintaining websites and web applications is known as web development. This refers to the entire process of web design, web content development, client-side/server-side scripting, network security settings, and occasionally SEO optimization that goes into making a web app look great, operate well, and have a smooth user experience.
Full-stack web developers typically write lengthy lines of code in text editors, style it with CSS, and then combine all the components to make these products. Today, however, they can also create a new website without having to start from scratch by using tools like Adobe Dreamweaver or content management systems.
The three main types of web developers are front-end developers, back-end developers, and full-stack developers. All of a website's visual elements are the responsibility of front-end development experts (layout, navigation bar, etc.). Its functionality and interactivity are also the responsibility of front-end developers.
Less visible duties and development areas handled by backend developers include administering the web app services, databases, and applications. To fix server-side concerns with back-end development, backend developers may also need to use additional server-side languages like Python, Ruby, Java, and PHP. Full-stack developers can work on both the front end and the back end.
What tools do web developers use?
When people refer to "web app development tools," they typically refer to the HTML, Java, and CSS programming languages, apps, and environments that enable developers to write and debug the code for online applications. However, the job of a web developer changes along with the digital world.
They now need to be capable of more than just writing code fragments. They must be knowledgeable with graphic elements, responsive UI/UX design, prototyping, wire-framing
Web 2.0 allows users to interact with information online through collaborative applications like blogs, wikis, and mashups that mix data from different websites. Popular examples include Gmail, Google Maps, and Flickr. Real estate companies can benefit from Web 2.0 by networking with other users, advertising properties for sale, and enhancing property searches through location-based applications. While Web 2.0 provides new opportunities, companies must consider reliability issues and costs of training employees on new technologies.
The document discusses the topics of Web 2.0 including blogs, wikis, tags, and social networks. It provides an introduction and program for a course on Web 2.0 that will cover definitions of key concepts, examples like blogs and wikis, technical specifications, tagging and social bookmarking, and social networking sites. The course will also discuss theories related to Web 2.0 and evaluate students based on exercises and a final presentation.

The Evolution of Web Designing From Past to Future Trends.pptxrainj2
Introduction
Web designing has come a long way since the early days of the Internet. From simple text-based layouts to visually stunning and interactive websites, the evolution of web design has been a fascinating journey. In this article, we will explore the past, present, and future trends of web designing, highlighting the key developments that have shaped the digital landscape.
The Birth of Web Design
In the early 1990s, the World Wide Web became accessible to the public, leading to the birth of web design. Websites were basic and primarily consisted of text and hyperlinks. The focus was on providing information rather than aesthetics. Designers used HTML as the primary language to structure the content, and early websites lacked the visual appeal we see today.
The Rise of Visual Elements
As the internet gained popularity, web design started to incorporate visual elements. Tables and images became common, allowing designers to arrange content more creatively. With the introduction of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), the separation of content and presentation became possible, enabling more flexibility in website design.
Flash and Multimedia Era
The late 1990s and early 2000s witnessed the rise of Flash technology, bringing multimedia elements to websites. Flash animations, videos, and interactive content became popular, enhancing user engagement. However, Flash had its drawbacks, including slow loading times and compatibility issues, leading to its eventual decline.
Mobile Responsive Design
With the proliferation of Smartphones and mobile devices, the demand for mobile-friendly websites increased. Responsive web design emerged as a solution, allowing websites to adapt to different screen sizes and devices seamlessly. Google’s algorithm updates also started favoring mobile-friendly sites, making responsive design a crucial aspect of modern web development.
Minimalism and Flat Design
In the early 2010s, minimalism and flat design gained prominence. Clean layouts, ample white space, and simple typography became popular. The focus shifted to user experience and ease of navigation. Websites embraced a more intuitive and user-friendly approach, promoting faster load times and better accessibility.
The Rise of Content Management Systems (CMS)
Content Management Systems like WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal revolutionized web design by making it easier for non-technical users to manage and update their websites. These platforms offered a wide range of templates and themes, providing design options for various industries and purposes.
The Era of Parallax Scrolling
Parallax scrolling was a trend that emerged in the mid-2010s, adding depth and interactivity to websites. It created an illusion of 3D depth by moving background elements at different speeds compared to foreground elements while scrolling. Although visually appealing, its excessive use often affected website performance and SEO.
Web development involves creating websites for use on the internet or intranets. It can range from simple single page sites to complex applications and online businesses. The rise of the internet as a visual medium correlated with its adoption by the general public through graphical interfaces. Users started embracing the World Wide Web when visual web browsers emerged in the early 1990s. Even as web technology advanced, some early design techniques persevered.
Web 2.0 refers to next-generation Internet services that facilitate sharing and collaboration on the World Wide Web. It is characterized by user-generated and user-edited content, as well as shared data and participatory experiences. Key technologies include wikis, blogs, photo and video sharing, mashups, and folksonomies. While Web 1.0 focused on static websites with information created by developers, Web 2.0 emphasizes user participation through social media and interactive applications.
The process of building websites and web apps is known as web development. To create and
maintain websites and apps that can be accessed via the internet, a combination of
programming languages—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—is used. Online developers work to
design websites that are both aesthetically beautiful and useful, and they may also be involved
in the creation of web applications, e-commerce websites, and mobile applications.
Web development is the process of building websites and web applications. It involves using programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design and create websites and apps that can be accessed on the internet. Web developers work on both the front end, which involves designing the visual interface, and the back end, which involves connecting the website to databases and servers. Popular tools for web development include WordPress, Wix, GitHub, Bootstrap, and programming languages like Python, Java, and JavaScript. Frameworks like Angular, React, and Node.js are also commonly used.

The document discusses the evolution of the World Wide Web from Web 1.0 to the current Web 2.0 to the future Web 3.0 or Semantic Web. Web 1.0 consisted of static pages and limited user interaction. Web 2.0 enabled user-generated content and more dynamic functionality through sites like Facebook. The Semantic Web, as envisioned by Tim Berners-Lee, aims to make web content machine-readable through technologies like URIs, XML, and ontologies to allow for more intelligent searching and connections between information. The document provides examples to illustrate the differences between each stage of the web's evolution.

11. So what does Web 2.0 means for web designers For web designers it doesn’t matter what web 2.0 is and what people say about It. What does matter is to focus on their job, seek to understand the business, economical and social issues. To educate themselves on hot technologies like XML and know what are the fuzz words. What do they need to know about it and how can they help in their goal as web designers and for their users and customers. Ref: http://www.cyop.net/web-design/90s-web-design-a-nostalgic-look-back.php Technology and design for the web are changing dramatically and quickly, Their jobs require constant learning, Designers have to accept change, embrace it and love it in the web 2.0 design industry. If not, people are miserable and cannot handle change. Most web designer today look for organic inspiration, at other media i.e. magazines, interactive media, textures colours, interactive design and not just other websites to get their inspirations. Their main Objective is to have an ongoing acceptance that they will always be learning if they want to stay on top. Ref: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php
