who refuse to be tested, will be disqualified from this event and

Mississippi’s Best Footrace
	 The Gum Tree Run, directed by the Tupelo
Running Club, is Mississippi’s largest 10K. It is
recognized by Runner’s World and Running Times
magazines.
	 Runners will be coming from all over the world to
participate in this classic as they have for 36 years.
	 Gum Tree 2013 has a traditional fast, flat USATF
certified course (MS12001MS), with excellent traffic
control and experienced teams of organizers that will
make this weekend one of great fun. Runner’s World
has even named it Mississippi’s best and one of the
top 75 runs in the nation.
	 The ChronoTrack BTag Timing system will be
used again this year. All runners must have an
official bib number with timing device on the back.
Northeast Mississippi Habitat for Humanity seeks
to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from
Northeast Mississippi, and to make decent shelter
a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites
people from all walks of life to work together to
partnership to help build houses with families in
need.
Proceeds from this year’s race will go to benefit the
Northeast Mississippi Chapter of Habitat for Humanity
Habitat 2K
	 For those not so inclined to go 6.2 miles (10K),
Gumtree has added a 1.2 miles (2K) Fun Run/Walk
to further promote exercise for the whole family.
Every entrant will receive an official Gumtree
T-shirt and every finisher will get a Habitat 2K
rubber band bracelet.
Cash Prizes and Awards
	 Compete for your part of our $8,700 prize fund.
First prize for overall male and female winner is
$1200. Money goes 8 deep in men and women open
division. 3 deep in men and women masters division
and 1 deep in men and women grand masters.
	 Prize money may be duplicated if winners qualify
in two or more cash prize categories.
	 Prize money goes 1 deep in men and women
wheelchair division.
	 Note: The acceptance of prize money will affect
an athlete’s amateur status.
	 Prize money will be mailed within 15 days of race.
Every finisher receives a Gum Tree Medallion.
Every entrant receives a Technical Gum Tree T-shirt.
