Daniel Sheflin
 Based in Minnesota, Daniel Sheflin served as vice president of
technology automation control solutions at Honeywell, where he
maintained responsibility for research and development for a
department that was responsible for 16 billion dollars of the
corporation's revenues. Among Daniel Sheflin's many hobbies, he
enjoys cooking Italian cuisine and watching cooking shows such as
Top Chef.
Since 2000, cooking competition shows have become more and
more popular. Iron Chef, originated in Japan, was one of the first to
attract significant attention. Since then, the trend has taken television
by storm, merging cooking with the drama and excitement of reality
television.
According to Thrillist, these are three of the best cooking shows:
 1) Chopped. In each episode, four chefs of all skill levels are given a
mystery box full of a variety of ingredients and asked to create an
appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. The winner is awarded $10,000.
2) The Great British Baking Show. A surprise hit, this baking
competition offers a slower pace where contestants are asked to
make a signature bake, a technical bake (where they are given a
half-finished recipe and asked to fill in the blanks), and a
showstopper. Each dish is judged by British celebrity bakers Paul
Hollywood and Mary Berry, and a baker is eliminated each week.
3) Iron Chef America. The original American cooking competition
show is still going strong. Each week, quality chefs battle against
famous and legendary chefs (including the likes of Bobby Flay and
Mario Batali) in the Kitchen Stadium. Each chef is given a secret
ingredient to work with and the winner is bestowed the title of Iron
Chef.
