The Goethals Bridge Replacement Project is nearly 49% complete. Over the winter, work will continue on both bridges and approaches and will include ongoing construction of columns, approach girders, tower construction, and steel superstructure erection. The project has an innovative apprentice program that is helping 35 apprentices build careers in the trades. Joe LaRosa, a construction foreman, shares how he started as a NYC police officer before joining the union and working on rebuilding after 9/11 and now focuses on safety as a foreman on the new Goethals Bridge.
