God in Islam is defined by the fundamental belief in tawhīd - that there is only one God called Allah. The first pillar of Islam, tawhīd, is expressed through the shahadah declaration of faith that there is no god but God and Muhammad is his messenger. In Islam, God is beyond comprehension and Muslims worship and adore God as their protector rather than visualizing or anthropomorphizing God. While Jesus is believed to be a prophet, Islam rejects the Christian doctrine of the Trinity and Jesus' divinity, instead believing that Jesus was merely a human prophet and not the son of God.
