1. General Motors Voluntary Report of Political Contributions - 2008
As part of its overall efforts to promote transparency for stockholders and others,
General Motors Corporation is releasing its voluntary disclosure of corporate
contributions for calendar year 2008. Included in this report are GM contributions (1) to
section 527 organizations; (2) to individual candidates for state and local office; and (3)
for dues or other payments to trade associations and section 501(c)(4) organizations to
the extent the payments exceed $50,000 and are used for political purposes. In
addition, links are provided below to the GM Corporate Policy on Corporate Political
Contributions and Expenditures as well as to obtain GM PAC contributions.
(1) Section 527 Organization Contributions

Democratic Attorneys General Association $ 5,000
Republican Attorneys General Association $ 5,000
(2) Contributions to Individual Candidates for State or Local Office
None
(3) Dues or Similar Amounts Totaling at Least $50,000 in 2008 Paid to Trade
Associations or Section 501(c)(4) Organizations Identified by the Organization as
Used for Political Purposes: In 2008, GM paid dues or similar payments of at least
$50,000 to organizations recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt
under either section 501(c)(6) as a trade association or section 501(c)(4) as a social
welfare organization. The following is a summary of GM dues or similar payments used
for political purposes:

2. GM’s voluntary disclosure represents every effort and intention by the automaker to fully
report all such contributions. However, given the scope and size of GM’s operations and
the variety of contribution channels, some contributions could be inadvertently omitted
from this initial disclosure. If GM is made aware of additional contributions through its
own review process, employees or by other means and sources outside the company, it
will immediately disclose those contributions.
