Globalization has both positive and negative impacts on the United States according to the document. Positively, American culture has influenced other parts of the world and cultural diversity has strengthened the US economy. However, globalization has also negatively impacted the environment through pollution, caused jobs to move overseas to lower-cost countries, and increased population migration which can spread disease. The large US trade deficit with China in particular has resulted in major job losses for American workers. While technology and certain industries have boosted the US economy, globalization overall risks increasing economic problems and reducing standards of living if debts and jobs losses continue to rise.
