Most of us have heard of Mary in the Bible but how much do we really know of her? Here in this series, we go deeper with some of the biographies of Bible characters.
The document is a prayer service for the Year of Mercy. It includes prayers, readings from Samuel and Mark, and prayers for mercy. The service focuses on God's mercy, Jesus accepting sinners and the poor, and asking God to make us merciful like him through his abundant grace.
The Virginity of Mary and Joseph in light of TOBslorraine126
The document discusses the virginity of Mary and Joseph in light of John Paul II's theology of the body. It explains that Mary and Joseph had a real marriage that was virginal, as their spousal love involved receiving and making a gift of oneself to the other without grasping. Their marriage shed light on both marriage and continence, as they lived out fruitful spousal love as guardians of the mystery of the Incarnation through their virginity.
Mary, The Mother of Jesus is now Queen in Heaven. She is with Jesus and so when we pray to her, asking her to pray for us, she goes to Jesus and intercedes for us - aren't we ever so blessed?!?! :-)
The Feast of the Assumption is celebrated by the Catholic Church on August 15th to commemorate the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was assumed body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly life. In 1950, Pope Pius XII definitively declared the Assumption of Mary to be a dogma of the Catholic faith. While the Bible does not explicitly mention the Assumption, Catholics believe it has been divinely revealed and is an important part of their tradition and theology concerning Mary.
The document discusses the central role of Mary, Mother of God in Catholic theology and doctrine. It summarizes teachings from several popes and saints about how Mary acts as an intercessor between humanity and God, and mediates the distribution of graces from God. It emphasizes that devotion to Mary through prayers like the Rosary allow one to find the path to Christ.
Mary is considered the most respected female figure in Christianity. According to Christian faith, she was the mother of Jesus Christ. Key beliefs about Mary include that she remained a virgin her whole life, was conceived without original sin, assumed into heaven body and soul at the end of her life. She is given the title "Mother of God" since Jesus is both divine and human. Mary is mentioned throughout the New Testament and holds an important role in Catholic and Orthodox traditions and teachings.
This document lists 21 titles that are attributed to Mary in Catholic tradition, including Immaculate Mary, Blessed Virgin Mary, Ever Virgin Mary, Star of the Sea, Queen of Peace, Queen of Heaven, God Bearer, Mother of God, Mother Mediatrix, and Mother of Mercy. It also lists titles associated with specific apparitions or shrines of Mary such as Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Our Lady of Loreto.
The document outlines Pope Francis' proclamation of an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy from December 8, 2015 to November 20, 2016. It discusses the profound mystery of God's mercy revealed through Jesus Christ, the opening of Holy Doors around the world, and five tasks for Catholics to undertake focused on celebrating God's mercy, carrying out spiritual and corporal works of mercy, and increasing dialogue and outreach.

Rethinking: Homosexuality and the Pro-Gay MovementNeo Lamperouge
This document discusses the Christian perspective on homosexuality. It begins by defining homosexuality as gender identity confusion resulting in same-sex attraction. It asserts that the Bible is the sole authority on whether homosexuality is right or wrong. The Bible unambiguously identifies homosexuality as sinful based on several passages. While homosexuality is a sin, Christians are called to condemn the sin but not the sinner, sharing God's love and salvation through Christ. The document encourages praying for and supporting homosexuals in overcoming same-sex attraction through God's grace.
This document discusses Jesus' healing ministry and the Christian belief that God can heal sickness. It provides examples from the Gospels of Jesus healing various illnesses and injuries. The document asserts that Christians are commissioned to pray for the healing of others based on Mark 16:15-18. It addresses differing views on whether divine healing continues today, whether all sickness is due to sin, and whether it is acceptable for Christians to seek medical treatment. The overall message is that all healing comes from God, and Christians should trust that God can heal through prayer or medicine according to His purposes.
Rethinking: Authority, Leadership and SubmissionNeo Lamperouge
After reading a Christian blog entitled "Spiritual Abuse: Shepherds Leading Like Royals", i was convicted and was lead to write an article about this difficult and sensitive issue of Authoritarianism (an idolatrous sin of controlling people). I began to recognize Authoritarian leaders around me and later recognized I was one of them. Having confidence in the authority and reliability of the sacred Scriptures, I am certain that this type of leadership in a church is not right nor biblical. Delve into this issue with me and encounter the right path to biblical leadership.

End of Days SERIES | Days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39)Neo Lamperouge
Jesus gives a clear picture of what the world looks like in the last days. He does this by comparing the generation preceding His return to the generation where Noah found himself. It was a picture of ungodliness that was so great it provoked God to send judgment upon the face of the earth. Because Noah found grace in the Lord’s eyes, God spared him and his family from the destruction. So it will be in the last days. The rise of wickedness and worldliness in our time makes the world ripe for impending judgment. But joy to those who found grace in the Lord Jesus and are walking with Him as Noah did, for He will spare them from the greatest troubles the world will ever witness.
As Genesis 41 unfolds, Joseph got promoted from Prisoner to Governor of the entire Egypt. Scholars and historians point out that it was Pharaoh Sesostris I who promoted him. But wait, how did he got such promotion all up a sudden? How did his long-time dream got fulfilled?
Joseph had a God-given dream but as he shared it to the ones who are close to him, they questioned him. We too will be questioned with our dreams but like Joseph, we must dream on and believe that God can turn our dream into reality.
For the sake of Homothumadon, focus on what we have in common, not our differences. Disagreements, as Rick Warren comments, is an indication that the Church has shifted to something less important: non-essentials.
The Certainty of Death and Uncertainty of LifeNeo Lamperouge
One common response towards the Great Commission is "Yes, I will go and make disciples, but NOT NOW". But WHY NOT NOW? Why do we go often to that direction? Probably because we have lost sight of the reality of the certainty of death and uncertainty of life.
Jesus glorified his Father here on earth by making disciples (John 17:4), and he calls us to do the same (John 17:18). God does not ask from us that we glorify Him in any way for which He will not supply us. And that's where the cross comes in.
The best way to start the New Year, I believe, is to immerse ourselves with the promises of God. According to scholars, there are approximately 1,260 promises that awaits us in the Bible. And we can claim them by faith in the Son of God.
It is notable that the total number of homosexuals in our country is gradually increasing. Not only their number but also their zeal to introduce homosexuality as “an alternative lifestyle” is rising today. May this article help us see what we ought to think about homosexuality and how we ought to respond to homosexuals.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
